The Dr. that my brother went to in Tennessee is being investigated by the FDA.

Anyone know how this process works?

My Mom and Dad are beside themselves. What if my brother was given something that was bad for him?

Anyone know where they can get information?

My brother had colon cancer and heard about this Dr. through word of mouth. He traveled to Tennessee many times for treatment. He did die from his colon cancer.

My Mom and Dad just don't know where to turn for answers.

Thanks in advance.

WE have a local Eye Doc that does radial Kert,,, that was using experimental procedures on patients and was fined by the FDA to the tune of $7k!!!

. He's still highly regarded and the "scandal" didn't hurt him amy. Good luck with finding out something.

thanks.

My parents left a message with the investigator. They don't know how much they are going to find out.

They just want some answers. I guess the Dr. already disqualified himself from conducting clinical trials. I guess he gave patients medicine without their informed consent.

Who knows?

Well, the investigators called me last night and set up a meeting with my Mom and Dad and my brother's former wife.

I guess the Dr. my brother saw was using an experimental cancer vaccine that was not approved by the FDA and he's in major trouble.

Obviously, my parents are shaken and upset.

I called the FDA to make sure this person was an employee and he is.

Just kind of shocked.

I'm sure you in complete shock. I do remember when my mother was battling cancer last year they had wanted to try out a few drugs on her but she was too weak. Perhaps your brother agreed to try something new that may or may not help.

I know this is probably very upsetting for you and your whole family. I know sometimes Doctors think they're more powerful than they really are and try to do things on the sly, but that's not right. I will wish you and your family comfort during this time.

Thank you.

I just feel so bad for my Mom and Dad.

I guess the Dr. never told his patients that this medicine wasn't approved by the FDA. The investigator said he has already plead guilty to a felony.

You're right, my brother would probably have tried anything. This was a last resort for him in his cancer treatment.

Sunday is the anniversary of his death and this just makes it more difficult for my parents.

They are looking forward to talking to the investigator, though, because they think it will give them some answers.

You can check the doctor out at your state's board of medical examiners to see if there are any problems with the doctor.

AZKathy,

Yes. He is already listed on the FDA website as a doctor who is disqualified from doing clinical trials.

The investigators are on their way to my parent's house to talk to them. It sure will be interesting to see what they have to say.

They keep saying they are basically almost done with the investigation but they came all the way to Michigan from Maryland so it seems mysterious.
