I'm curious if any of you have heard or or used the Move Up America program when building a new home? I've been searching the internet and I can't find much (which to me is a huge red flag!)

We're looking to build a new house, but we'd have about 6 more months on our lease at closing. The homebuilder we are working with suggested contacting Move Up America, because they have a lease buy-out program, that will help us get out of our lease, and let us build the house faster (as opposed to waiting 6 more months or potentially eating 6 months of rent!)

I'm going to contact the program today, but I was hoping maybe some of you had experience with this company, and could give me some advice. I don't want to get caught in some sort of scam! :scared1:

I don't know what you are looking for? I never heard of this company. It sounds to me like you have six months left on your lease and want to build a house? Really, that's probably a perfect time frame...but the time you have the house built, you'll be close to the end of your lease and be ready to move out. If your house is ready earlier (and believe me, it usually takes longer than they tell you it will), you can probably negotiate directly with your landlord.

Yes, if we close in Dec, we'd have 6 months left on our lease. The builder told us about this program, and while they told me they have been in business for 20 years, but I can't find much info on them, and no reviews, etc. It sounds reasonable, but I'm sure ponzi schemes sound reasonable to the people buying in, right? :rotfl:
