Has anyone had good/bad expierence using the other resorts in the world passport collection? ie...Colorado, Las Vegas, etc. Are they easy to book? Any thoughts? Thanks.

We've used our points once in the world passport collection. We did a trip to London and we've used the concierge collection I think about 5 times. Washington DC, New York and SC. We loved each and every trip. The hotels were first class all the way and it was very easy to trade, simply called MS. The trips to NYC & DC were both during holiday periods (memorial weekend in DC, 4th of July in NY) and we had no trouble getting a room. We did book fairly early (Jan, if I remember correctly)
The trade fee is now $100 bucks and you pay that when you book. Some folks are going to tell you, trading out is not an economical use of points but I pretty much figure, I purchased the points to go on vacation and enjoy' nuff said.

Thanks. We want to consider buying the DVC, with knowing we could also go to some of these other resorts. I've been wanting to go to Martha's Vineyard, and that's one of the places. Nice to know you can book somewhat in advanced. That's the only thing that concerned me. I agree, so what's another $100 , you bought the points, go someplace different. It's not that much in the scheme of 7 nights. Thanks again.

We have traded to CA, Washington DC, Hilton Head, and Williamsburg. We always try to get a Marriott trade when possible. You can't be certain every place will be as nice as DVC. In fact, we went over this last weekend to Gatlingburg, TN to see a disney trade. I wouldn't spend 270 points for a week there in a two bedroom. It wasn't bad, just not worth that many points when you can rent them for $10.00 a point.

The concierge collection has always been nice but you pay many points for that option. In Washington we stayed at a very nice hotel but used many points and had very small rooms. I do feel that having the option to trade out is really nice if you just investigate where you are going. Marriotts have always been a good choice and we haven't been unhappy with any of our trades with them.

We have found that the really busy places are hard to get. I had a search for MB for a while with the Marriott. It didn't come thru. I now have a search for NC during Oct and fall. Again, a busy time of year so I don't know if we will
get it. You would think that trading DVC would get you anywhere but that is not always true. You have to be flexible and willing to wait for the trade to come thru.
