We're staying at Pop with connecting rooms. This is our first time ever trying this since our youngest is now 4 and makes us a family of 5, too big for many hotel rooms. DS is 9, DDs are 6 and 4. Are there any tips, warnings, suggestions you may have for us before our trip? Are there any challenges or dangers to be aware of when using connecting rooms? I'd appreciate any input you can offer because I'm a little nervous about it...

We had connecting rooms at POR in April and were a party of 5. We just left the doors between the rooms open all the time and made sure that both doors to the outside were locked. If you are really nervous just put an adult in each room. The benefit of having two bathrooms is great! Have a great trip:)

We had connecting rooms at the Pop last Dec. It was wonderful. I would never do it any other way. We have 5 people in our family also. Me and DH were in one room and the 3 kids in the other. We just kept the doors between the rooms open.

We've been doing connecting rooms for years. I remember when our twins were 18 months old, dd, who was 7 at the time, wanted her own bed, so she got stuck sleeping in the room with them, and the rest of us were in the other room! She was great, and even took care of things if they woke up crying! :thumbsup2 We just use all of the locks.

We had connecting rooms last year at POR. We kept the door between the rooms open. In one room we put the pack & Play in front of the door to block it and kept the do not disturb sign on that door so we only used on exit. It worked great for us.

Another family of 5 who needs connecting rooms. Just one word of warning. WDW cannnot guarantee connecting rooms when you make the reservation. It is only a request. We got our request for connecting rooms in 2007 at POP, but did not in 2008 at ASMo. Because we were at ASMo for just one night prior to our Disney cruise, I didn't make a big deal of it, but had it been for an extended stay at WDW I would have been more upset.

We have done connecting rooms 3 times, twice at POP and once at WL. Always got them as we requested and loved it. We just kept the doors between them open and the outer ones locked as others said.

We got connecting rooms at POP for AUg. I was told that families have priorities for connecting rooms.

We kept the doors open most of the time even at night. We did close them a little in the morning since we are early risers and ds's and a son's gf were not up as early as us.

That is something that is a HUGE worry for me. DH is already not thrilled about this trip and if they didn't give us connecting rooms (when we were told by AAA that they were guaranteed) he would flip, so would I for that matter. I did contact Pop the other day and they said it wasn't even on there that we wanted connecting rooms, but she put it on there then. Can you believe that?! After AAA said it was guaranteed! Anyway, that's what worries me most. When I talked to Pop the other day, though, she said it shouldn't be a problem... I certainly hope it isn't, that would ruin the trip for me and DH for sure.

I wouldn't worry, we are a family of 5 and always got connecting rooms. CM and the hotels themselves have always told us that a family, husband, wife and kids (3) are guarenteed connecting. When kids out number parents they guarenteed. It is when you try for connecting with say another family or grandparents is when they don't. thats just what we have always been told and never had a problem.

That is what we have always been told as well. We have been several times with 5 children and ourselves with connecting rooms and never been disappointed. We haven't stayed at POP but all the moderates so far and its not been an issue for us.

We love the connecting rooms. We just leave the door open most of the time, even at night. Its nice to have that "second" bathroom for everyone, the second fridge (mods) and second tv. DH can relax and watch a game with the boys in one room and the girls and I can watch something in their room when we are "resting".

We are also a family of 5 and now get connecting rooms at POP. It is great! We had previously stayed at POR but I don't think we'll go back to 1 room again. The extra space and bathroom were so nice to have and it was great for each of the kids to have his own bed. We also left the connecting door open most of the time and just latched both doors to outside. If your kids are young, you could put an adult in each room. Our oldest (12) slept in the bed closest to the outside door in the other room, we felt confident he wasn't going to escape during the night.

I know there is alot of concern about getting the connecting rooms. We were also told they were guaranteed because of the 2 adults, 3 kids, and didn't have a problem. Good luck!

Just to let everyone know, we are a family of 5. Two parents and 3 kids and we were "guaranteed" connecting rooms at POP in August. Well, when we checked in, we were not given connecting rooms. I asked again very nicely and the CM made a phone call and was able to get us connecting, but don't assume that just because you have 3 kids that you will get them. What I don't understand is that obviously the rooms were available if she was able to just make a call, so why couldn't they have just given them to us in the first place?

That's just the kind of stress I don't need right now. I need magic, which is why I want to go to Disney. Promising me that I will have connecting rooms and then telling me they aren't, even if only for a few minutes until it's fixed, is not acceptable or magical in any way. I certainly hope this doesn't happen to us because I'm PMSing and won't deal with it well!

We will heading to Disney on November 29th, and since DD16 is bringing her BF and we also have a 9yo dd, we have connecting rooms at All Star Movies. I am really excited about it, we have always shared a room with our girls on trips, Disney or elsewhere-and now we can have more space and some privacy...;)

We had connecting rooms at Pop last January when we took by two nieces and nephew. I had booked the two rooms even before we were sure my nephew would be able to go. We wanted the extra bathroom as well as somewhere to "put the kids to bed"

It worked perfect for us. We explained to the kids 4, 7, 8, that the door from their room to outside was not be be unlocked or opened by them. I think we may have also put the a chair in front of the door with a suitcase on it.

The only thing I can add is to make sure that you request "Connecting Rooms" and not adjoining rooms. Connecting has the door between them. Adjoining just means they are next door to each other.

I have a question we are a group of 15 with two sets or adults and the rest kids. We have asked for 4 room each set connecting rooms. In ASMo are we maybe going to be across the hall from each other or different ends of the earth???

Had 2 rooms in Aug. at POP for the 5 of us. They told us because 3 kids and 2 parents we were gauranteed connecting rooms. It was wonderful. My dh and I in 1 room and the 3 kids in the other. It worked out perfectly for the 1 night we were there. I would do it again in a heartbeat - the extra space was nice.
