Anyone have experience with a palate extender???

My niece had one, and she was fine with it. They told her she would be in pain, but she never was.

Thanks for all the replies!! I knew I could count on my fellow DISers. I think if we can plan to have it put in on a Friday and give lots of ice cream and Tylenol if it bothers him - he'll survive. Timing and preparation is what's important to him. I'll be sure to make sure we get to turn the key before we leave the office - that's a great idea!
