anyone have experience making balloons inside balloons like they have in the park

I was thinking that I could make them look a little more "park-like" by putting them inside big clear balloons. I found some that are 18". Do you think that should that be big enough? Is balloon shaped OK, or should I try to find one more round?

If you could find rounder ones it might work better. You could always try it and if it doesn't work out you'll just have some extra balloons! I think 15 inside of an 18 would be okay, it really depends on how full you want either.

I googled and looked on youtube. Most of the videos just showed how to blow them up, and not what kind of balloons to buy. I didn't think of looking on pinterest. Good idea.

You don't have to use helium to practice. Any air will do. Of course it helps to have an air compressor handy.

I have seen a video from Disney showing how to do it.

First its not a special nozzle just technique and knowing how much air to add to the first balloon so when you fill the inside balloon the outside is filled up enough. But even in the video they went back and forth.

I'll try to find it.

Here the outer balloon isn't that much bigger than the ears, but it is round. I think round for the outer will be needed to fit the ears properly. Although the ears balloons I'm finding are longer, that this one, so the proportions are different. I don't need to be exact, just want to get the idea of a park balloon. Want to make sure whatever I order will fit.

Are you saying that after popping the outer balloon, the inner would not float by itself?

With talk of a helium shortage, that is probably a good way to conserve/keep their cost down.

If you look at the video posted above its all helium. If they only filled the outer or inner with helium I doubt it would have enough lift.

But if it did I could see Disney doing this. Helium is a non renewable resource and right now is in short supply. Many party stores around here can't fill balloons any more because they can't get bulk tanks.

Also not to speak doom and gloom but I'm pretty sure that helium balloons will no longer be around in our lifetime.

You can use hydrogen instead of helium for balloons. Hydrogen is a renewable resource; decompose water to produce it.

If they get hydrogen powered automobiles down pat then there would be a plentiful supply of hydrogen to fill balloons with.

Everything is fine until you add some oxygen and a heat source. I guess they would be banned form DSA's.

OK I actually have other interests and I read a report of using hydrogen for amateur High Altitude Balloon Launches.
