I'm still trying to decide when we want to leave from my in-laws this Sunday (they live in Jax, Fl.) to head down to Disney. (To me the sooner the better). I was just wondering if anyone who's been down there recently had any luck checking in early. I asked a similar version of this question before but that was before it opened so I was hoping to hear from any voices of experience. Thanks in advance!

At the last minute my flight was cancelled, and I worked with the airline to come in a day early and stayed at the Hyatt in the Airport. I took my time, but I still arrived at BCV by 11:00 on a Sunday morning and my room was ready. I sure didn't expect that.

We arrived at 1:00 on 7/31 and our room was ready.:D

I'm glad you asked this b/c I was wondering it myself.
Have a great trip!:D

We were able to check in on 9/6 (Friday after Labor Day) around 1 p.m. I was a little surprised, because I know so many DVCers check out on Friday mornings to save points. Turns out the resort was pretty quiet all week, so I'm guessing occupancy wasn't very high.

I checked in on fri 9/6 also at 10:30am. The room I was assigned to was not ready but several others were. We decided to wait because our assigned room had all our request. But as KCritter said the place was empty. Have a great time .

I just wanted to say have a GREAT trip!!:Pinkbounc Only three more days, how can you stand it? I can't wait to hear your report on BCV's, please come back and tell us everything, ok? (I am especially wondering about the SAB slide, I love slides;) )

HeatherPage,

Good Luck, we will be trying to check in early ( about 1 ) on the 27th so I hope all goes well for you. I'm with beaker though, I think we would rather wait and see if we could get all of our requests.

Thanks again everyone! I'll definitely report when I get back :) Well if I wasn't working full time and my baby keeping me busy and of course I'm a procrastinator so I just started cleaning and doing laundry last night to leave (we're actually leaving tomorrow after work to hit the in-laws first in Jacksonville) then I'd probably wouldn't be able to stand it. I'm still getting giddy though. Since we drive down I always get the tune "On the Road Again..." in my head once we leave for vacaton and it's been there for about two weeks. (Yes I know, I'm a kook!). At this point as long as the the villa is non-smoking, I'll take an early checkin over the Epcot view I'm hoping for. But anyways, I'll try to give a good report when we get back, food, SAB, etc. :)

We arrived at 9:30 am on Saturday, August 3, and were able to check in immediately! It was so nice to settle in early. We felt like we got an extra day!!!

I have long suspected that there is a tremendous advantage in checking in early, that doing so gives one more options regarding room requests. We'll be testing that theory late next month: our flight leaves RDU at 6am (ugh!) and gets into MCO at 7:40! (Our only other option for a direct flight would have had us not getting into MCO until something like 3:30)

Have a fantastic trip!!! I'm sure Justin will have a *fantastic* time!!

Suzy that sounds very promising! :) Jon, I hope he loves it there - he's already walking now so we'll see if he goes up to any characters on his own or not :) We'll see!!!

Sam was a little bit daunted by the characters at first, but with Character caravan, he got personal attention - he sat on the floor, afraid, but Dale (or maybe it was Chip :)) sat down with him and started playing with him. Within seconds, he was delighted, and he was for the rest of the trip. He was 19 months back then. This trip should be *totally* different - he's 2+ now, and SO much more aware of his surroundings than he was in January. I think the October trip's going to be a blast!

We checked in on Sunday 9/1 at around 11:00 am and
our room was ready. We had a one bedroom and it was a great room! Rm 208/Pool View/Near Elevator/First Room Down Hallway off the Loft which overlooks the breezway area.

JonHM - we've been on that early morning flight several times! :) (Delta, right?) RDU is not crowded at that early hour, so don't worry about arriving at the airport before 5am. That first flight out is my favorite because you can check-in to your resort AND still have time to catch a bus to be at one of the parks as it opens! :) Have a great trip!

HeatherPage - I'm sending Pixie Dust your way in hopes that your room will be ready when you check in! Also, I suggest you let your son gradually become accustomed to the characters. They appear overwhelmingly large to toddlers. When my children were small, we always booked a character meal at the end of our trip so they would be used to the characters by that time. Have a wonderful time! :)
