Anyone have a waitlist for one night that did NOT come through?

Hello everyone! I am trying to see my odds, as all of us do on the waitlist! I have one night waitlisted in May for BLT theme park studio...obviously there is no way to tell for sure but is this a very popular room type? I see availability for the lake view but I did not think that the theme park room would book up as fast considering the amount of points. I have a little over 5 months to the vacation, so I am hoping it comes through, it's for 1 weekday night.

If you have not had a one night waitlist come through could you please tell me when you were travelling and what hotel/ room type you had tried for? I am a planner so being on the waitlist is torture for me haha.

I'm still on the waitlist for Jan 9th for a BWV Garden View. It's marathon weekend so I highly doubt it'll open up. Also have a waitlist for the entire week but I know THAT is near impossible! Good luck!

I waitlisted a Friday night for late September at VGC studio about 3 months before that never came through, I had it all the way down to 7 nights before.

I did get a BWV 1 night garden view studio waitlist about 28 days before last month. I was only on that waitlist about a week, I had 5 nights waitlisted originally and the other 4 came through by stalking the online system and I changed it to just the 1 night. Again, I had it set for 7 nights (I had an AP discount res as a backup).

I had a value studio wait listed for the second week in December that never came through. I let it go up to 7 nights before. I now have one wait listed for a few days in June after our VWL. I have a standard reserved so we' ll be fine if it doesn't come through.

For one night in a BWV studio at the Boardwalk. It was the first night of my stay, so I spent the first night in preferred pool/garden view. What was a little strange was that when I went down at 9:30 the next morning to switch rooms, my new room was ready already!

I don't know what to do actually. I wanted to use points that HAVE to be used (they are banked from last year), and the first night is actually reserved with banked points already. So I wanted to use the remaining to book the waitlisted room. I'm afraid that if I book a back up with current points and never get the waitlist then I'll screw myself of those banked points, so I was going to hope for the waitlist to come through and if it gets close to a month or 2 before then just book OKW or AKV (granted if they have them available). What would you do? I almost booked BWV as a backup as it was available but my husband wants to wait. I can't change how the points are used after it's booked right? So in case the waitlist does not come through I can't tell them to switch my BWV room to the banked points I assume?

31 or more days prior to check-in, the points would go back where they came from (e.g., if they were banked, they would stay in the year they were banked into). 1-30 days prior, and the points go into holding.

you can book a back-up using the banked points, and request that those points be used if the WL comes thru (WLing doesn't use any points). if there is a points difference, the above rules apply; if the WL reservation would require more points, just let MS know where you want the points deducted from.

Thank you everyone!!! Looks like Christmas gave us some pixie dust and we got our waitlist!!! So no more worries...phew! I actually noticed it yesterday around noon that the waitlist disappeared from my front page when I logged in, and so I chatted with MS who told me that it was indeed in the process of being confirmed. Still this morning it was still not confirmed yet so I called them when they opened bc I saw that our date was available for booking as well. They did it this morning through my phone call and used my banked points first (which they told me would happen anyway). So no more stalking for me!
