I know the food and bev minimum is a little high but im not really interested in a traditional reception and thought this would be nice, also it doesnt look like i would have to do much decorating. Would they allow you to go outside to watch illuminations without paying for a private DP location?

thanks for your input...any pics would be fabulous!!!

I can check my information when I get home, but I know lunch was at least $5,000 and I forget what the story was for dinner (bc I was looking for lunch). I know you have to go with the menu the chef prepares and there is less flexibility (asking them to recreate your favorite soup for example, don't think they will do it). I'll get back to you though!

I'm actually having my reception their this September.... so no pics yet. When is your wedding? The Bistro is absolutely gorgeous. It is also really intimate. We are using half of the restaurant for our guests to sit and the other half for the buffet. All we are doing for our decorations is rose petals on the tables and colored napkins. Other then that the only thing we are having is to candelabras on both ends of the buffet table. We are having a beauty and the beast theme so the candelabras kind of pull it together.

We are having a brunch menu because it is $5000 for a lunch/brunch menu and $8000 for a dinner. The brunch menu they put together for us is amazing. It is reasonably priced and there is going to be soooo much food.

Now i'm not certain about any of this because we are having a dessert party as a welcome party for all of our guests the night before but I don't think they would let you watch illuminations without at least charging you a viewing fee per person. I would also assume that you personally wouldn't be able to watch illuminations with everyone if you don't have a private area reserved because you can't be seen in your dress by other guests unless you have an area reserved. We have to have a charter bus to get behind the scenes to the bistro and to get back. They are bringing us in through a gate near the international gateway to get to the bistro. If you have any other questions, please feel free to shoot me a message! HTH :)

Would you happen to know if there are guest count minimums or maximums for this reception venue?

Thanks!

I don't think their is a minimum. The restaurant i believe holds a maximum of around 120 people. It is a really intimate location and that is all the restaurant can hold. We are doing a buffet stule brunch (with a delicious menu i might add) and it is taking up half of the restaurant so we have seating for pretty much exactly the number of guests we are having which is right around 70. I'm sure you could fit more people if you had a sit down dinner or something along those lines. I don't think you would want to have fewer than around 60 or 65 for this location because of the food and beverage minimums though... they are a little higher then most.

Thanks so much. We are considering having our ceremony in France, and then having a brunch buffet for about 60-75 people so this sounds perfect. We have eaten dinner at Bistro de Paris before, and we LOVED it!

Thanks again for your help.

Im thinking of a Bistro de Paris reception, too. Do you think that since its so pretty on its own and would take only a small amount of decorating, that would outweigh the expense or higher minimums? I really like it, the more I look at it. (Now to just convince the DF)

I think it is totally worth it if you have enough people to reach the food and beverage minimum for the bistro and not have to go too far over the food and beverage minimum for disney weddings in general. It is absolutely gorgeous and doesn't take allot of decorations. We are adding colored napkins, and rose petals on all of the tables... that's it. It really is prettier in person than it was in pics (at least it was for me).

Rebclay....just wondering....are you having any type of entertainment or music at your reception? We had planned to do the whole DJ and dancing thing, but now that we are having our reception at Bistro de Paris, we aren't really sure what to do for entertainment.....Musicians? Background music? We really do like the idea of like Parisian cafe music or something playing during the meal, but we also want a little wedding surprise and excitement so everyone doesn't just feel like they went out to eat at a nice restaurant.

Also, what color flowers are you using for your reception? We want to be sure to pick a color that looks nice with the interior of the restaurant.

Thanks for your help!

We are having a dj with a dance floor. My df and I are taking dance classes and are choreographing a first dance so i insisted on the dj. There won't be an actual dance floor per se but we have an area of the bistro that will be set up for dancing.

We are using black magic rose petals sprinkled on all of the tables and having gold napkins. We are also having two gold candelabras at the ends of the buffet tables and the beauty and the beast bell dome with rose on our sweet heart table. That's it for decorations. Our colors are red, ivory, and gold.

HTH :thumbsup2

Thanks. That helps a lot. I have always wanted a DJ and dancing at my wedding, but when we chose Bistro de Paris, I thought I had to give that up. I can't wait to hear how your DJ works out. (I hope you will share photos too)

Good luck with the choreographed dance. I take dance twice a week so I sure wish I could convince my sweetie to go along with that!

LOL, the only way i got him to agree to weekly dance lessons was to make him do a choreographed first dance. He would never agree to it normally but now that we have started it, he actually really enjoys latin dances. lol
