Anyone have a problem with Bleeding Shirts?

Has any one had a problem with bleeding shirts? One of the posters was wondering if they should use the Vinegar wash? I did once but they were with AC Moore transfers. I haven't had the problem with Amy's transfers? So the questions is - do you use the vinegar wash? Have your DISigns bled in the rain or on a wet ride Thanks, Penny

I did have that happen with Amy's transfer paper. It was with a red shirt and I had my iron set on too high of heat. The red from the t-shirt bleed onto the transfer paper. Lots of transfer papers require super high heat, but Amy's are better if you use not so hot of an iron. Make sure you follow her instructions. It was still a great product and I would highly suggest using it...just don't turn your iron on high for a red shirt.

On two of my first few shirts, I had a bleeding problem when I washed the shirts inside out. I had red bleed onto a yellow shirt for Easter and I was so upset! However, I shouted every spot, rewashed right side out, and all of the spots disappeared. Yeah!!! I use Amy's transfer paper now too, and although she can't really guarantee no problems, her instructions are very good. I found that if I wash them on a gentle cycle and remove them immediately from the wash, the colors don't sit on top of each other and bleed. I also only hang dry my shirts, never put them in the dryer. The colors stay bright, sometimes a few spots might flake, but nothing like the cheap transfers I tried from Michaels and Walmart. One final note, I did have a problem using the parchment paper included with the transfers, I got spots and wrinkles on my designs, so I just use cotton fabric instead and have had no problems. Trial and Error!!
