I was wondering what the difference was between the regular Nook and the Nook Tablet? I've seen them on sale recently and was thinking about getting one. Still trying to decide if I want to read books on the Nook or in hard copy version :confused3. I know it's easier to carry around the Nook, but I think I would miss turning the pages, going back to re-read something, etc.

I have a tablet (not Nook). Can I just download books to the tablet I have or do I need the Nook specifically? The 16 GB Nook tablet is only $20 more than the 8GB. I have some gc's I could use. But if I can use the tablet I have to download books, that saves me the extra expense.

I have a Nook tablet and LOVE it but you can download the nook e-reader appon your tablet and the kindle one as well and use that as a reader!! as far as rereading you can go back 1 to how ever many pages u want and you can store hundreds of books online!!! I have like 25 books right now on my nook and 75 or so online that I can share, or redownload to reread!

I have the Nook Color not the tablet.
My daughter and I checked out the Nook tablet for her to get school books on for college. We also checked out the Kindle Fire.

We decided on a Google Nexus 7 instead.
The Nexus 7 is a couple dollars more but we felt it worth it.

The Nexus had a better processor, up to date Android, better resolution, and you can run the Nook app and the Kindle app on it just fine to be able to buy from both. You can also get the Kobo app. Not to mention it is thinner and lighter than the Nook.

It also has bluetooth, gps, nfc (Google wallet), front facing camera, etc.
There was also a 10.00 credit for Google Wallet and a 25.00 credit for Google Play that came with my daughters Nexus which helped offset the additional cost.

Its one notable drawback was the lack of an sd card slot. So she got the 16gb instead of the 8gb so she has plenty of room.

I have the original Nook and my DD has the Nook tablet. We love both. I didn't know if I would like reading on it but I love that I can control font size. My vision isn't 20/20 even with contacts so I enlarge the font and it is great!;)

I prefer the Nook. Upgraded from a Nook Color, which I also loved. I use an sd card to boot from, with an Android OS that allows me more freedom with apps, etc than is available directly through B&N. I use it like an entertainment center, as I have lots of game apps, Netflix, Vulkano (like slingbox), over 100 books, web surfing, etc. I have a second sd card that I loaded 10 movies on for vacation, just in case the wifi is spotty at the resort. I think I paid 15 on ebay for the sd card to have a full Android OS (with Amazon appstore & Google Play), and 14 on Amazon for the empy card for all the movies. Wish I had waited to buy my Nook Tablet till the 16gb was only slightly higher than the 8gb that I have, but I'm still thrilled with it.

I have the Nook Color and rooted it so it is like an Android tablet. I love it! I still read some paper books, but I when I am traveling, I always download a few from the library to read while I am away. It also works well for the internet, Netflix and I can get all the Android apps instead of just being limited to the Barnes and Noble store. It was really easy to root it. All I needed was a mini SD card and this tutorialhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=iv&v=MMFGd0MdRJU&annotation_id=annotation_529168&src_vid=VFJsVlwtb8k
