I was reading on the DFTW about how they specialize in theming, and how they have done Winter Wonderland & Tea parties etc etc.

I would love to see pics of a heavily themed wedding! I would also be intersted in prices.

Does anyone know of anyone who has done a crazy themed out party? I did see a clip of a Narnia wedding that rocked. :goodvibes

Here is the excerp from The DFTW website:
What are the different types of theme weddings available at Disney?

We have hosted such a wide variety of "themed" weddings--each of them different and unique. We have hosted Medieval weddings, Winter Wonderland Weddings, a "Mad Hatter's Tea Party" Wedding, "Beauty & the Beast" Ball Weddings, a "Hollywood Grandeur" Wedding, "Under the Sea Weddings" at the Living Seas Pavilion, a Native-American "Pocahontas" Wedding at Fort Wilderness and weddings in many of the countries around the World Showcase in Epcot®--to name just a few! Our team of professional wedding consultants is available to create the wedding theme of your dreams.

What is the Most Requested Theme of a wedding at Disney?

The Cinderella Wedding is by far the most requested "theme" at Walt Disney World. Bride's can truly become Cinderella for the day as they arrive in Cinderella's Glass Coach and exchange their vows with Cinderella Castle in the background (whether in the Magic Kingdom® Park or the altar at Disney's Wedding Pavilion!)

We had a Mary Poppins Theme tea party. I recently wrote about it in our TR in my link. Our wedding had a "turn-of-the-century" theme, since the GF has so many Victorian elements. But, we didn't really overdo that.

I had an "entertainment / hollywood theme" but I did it all myself. I didn't have Disney do any of it because I'm cheap. :lmao: It was great for us since me and my DH both work in entertainment, so it had special meaning to us.

It's fun to have a theme though, makes it easier to come up with ideas IMO

Here's some examples -

My programs were playbills will bio's of my wedding party. Act 1 was the ceremony, Act 2 was the reception (and we had some of our guests perform during the reception who are professional actors / singers)

Our favors were personalized walk of fame stars which the guests names on them:

Our seating cards were theatre / show tickets.. each table was named after a show we had worked on.

Instead of a guest book.. we had a "red carpet" without the carpet. We had a video camera set up and guests were to get on mic and give us their wishes. I don't have a pic of it but here's a pic of what it kinda looked like...

This is the banner we used and had made that went behind the guests...

Disney had offered me paparazzi (actors) to be on the red carpet but it wasn't in our budget. Had it been, I think that would have been super cool though.

I'm going to be going with a 1930s theme (Seaside resort ala "The Gay Divorcee"). Our PS is in a week, so not much to show as of yet, but I'm hoping to get a journal up soon after. Our planner seems really excited about the idea, so everything should go well!

I did a "Tea at the Ritz" theme. My poor planner had no idea what I meant, either. We went through everything, including the proper way to serve tea. :thumbsup2 The chef was great and really listened to how I wanted things served, including where things should be on the three tiered plates.

I love your theme; its like the red carpet theme we used at our at-home reception. We premiered our wedding video for our guests :goodvibes

Twiu - A friend of mine is getting married next year (not at Disney). She's in the theatre business and we were thinking of doing something similar (programs and show tickets). I LOVE the idea of the walk of fame coasters as favours. Do you mind letting me know where you got those coasters from?

Sorry to go a little off topic disbridemimi.

Thanks!

Thanks!

They are from www.yourhollywoodstar.com - they are more a paper weight than a coaster but they're beautiful. They're awesome. The people who own the company are amazing and are very helpful. If she does use them, let her know that Tracy Wiu referred her. I ended up with a great relationship with them and love them! The ladies name is Lee and she will possibly give your friend a deal if she orders a lot of them fyi. HTH.

Thanks a lot Tracy! We will definitely contact them :)

I'm not married, but I ultimately do want a Disney wedding. As long as the guy (there's no guy at the moment) is okay with it, I want a heavily themed Halloween rock and roll wedding. A love of Halloween and rock music runs in my family :)
