Or FLL?

We're cruising for the first time and I'm having sticker shock at the difference in airfare to MIA/FLL vs MCO out of Cleveland.

The trip is at the end of March. Does anyone have more experience with this route or know of a tool I could use to help me?
TIA

I monitor flight costs through www.kayak.com. You can set up alerts for any city pair so you get an idea of what a good price is.

I've found better prices to FLL than MIA. Its not that expensive to take a shuttle bus/car service from FLL to the Port of Miami.

You may want to also check flight prices out of Akron canton. We found our tickets to be cheaper and the airport is smaller and much easier to navigate. Good luck!

Have you looked at flights out of CMH (Columbus) ? We have not been flying out of CLE much because the prices are so high and have used CAK or CMH even DTW (Detroit) we coupled the DTW flight with a Tigers baseball game. We drove up in the afternoon caught a baseball game that night stayed at a hotel that had free parking for a week used my Starwood hotel points for a free hotel night and got on a flight the next morning for much lower fare.

Thanks everyone! CMH and DET are too far for us and DH is against PIT and would rather pay more to fly from CLE or CAK. He also has his heart set on FLL instead of MIA.

Right now most of the different options mentioned are about the same price (Between $400-$500 per person RT). We usually pay max of $250 to MCO. It's the end of March, so I think Spring Break is playing a role.

I do have alerts set up through Kayak and a couple of other sites, so I guess I just need to keep looking.
Thanks!

Even though Easter is not till April 20 it is astounding how high those flights are. Even to MCO they are running $200 each way. What are your travel dates? I see on SWA that if you fly on Tue or Wed in the month of March you can get flights for $120 each way to FLL! Plus you get two free checked pieces of luggage per passenger with SWA

1) Sadly, Cleveland is much like Charlotte, NC.
2) One airline dominates the CLE airport.
3) Even Southwest raised upped rates almost to Delta's (just like at Charlotte).
. . . Southwest has "decent" rates for non-refundable 30-days ahead of time
. . . even 2-weeks prior to flight are not that great
4) There are not a lot of deals MCO/CLE.
. . . we used to live in Cleve
. . . family is still there
. . . so, we fly there, or we fly the kids/grandkids to MCO
5) Unfortunately, it is called grin-and-bear-it.

I WISH we could do that, but we are stuck as DH is a teacher, so we have very specific dates. March 29-April 4. The earliest we could leave would be the evening of the 28 and have to be back by the 5th, which I know will totally not help as they are still Friday/Saturday dates.

Yep. When we lost Continental, we lost any flexibility.
