Anyone have a AAA travel agent familiar with DL deals?

We've never booked our WDW ressies through AAA, but for our DL trip in December, I want to take advantage of the enhanced fastpass and other AAA benefits. I tried calling our local office but they didn't seem to be very helpful. Can anyone recommend a AAA travel agent that they've used that really knows the Disneyland deals?

Thanks!

hi

i have a great agent here in calif - i feel funny about posting her phone # online so if you pm me i'll give it to you-

we've been to disneyland 2 with ressies from her and she's been very helpful -

hope this helps

We just booked our September trip through an agent in Austin, TX since there isn't a AAA office where we live. From our experience, I can tell you that even a seemingly unknowledgable agent will be fine. They have a GREAT brochure that lists all the benefits you get by booking through AAA - it really has all the info you'll need. (Now if your local office doesn't have those brochures, I would look elsewhere. but they should all have them.) When they book the vacation, all they do is go to the Disneyland website and enter the travel agent section. They'll get the same information you would by booking yourself on that site, except the price will be around $100 dollars less overall. The exception to this is if you go during the "stay four nights get one free" offer. That deal overrides the $100 off. So we paid the same price we would have by booking online through the WDTC but we get the AAA perks like enhanced fastpass and Mickey's Toontown Morning Madness. Our agent didn't know anything about the Disneyland offer off the top of her head, but she was still perfectly able to navigate the website and book the trip. It doesn't hurt to go in with a list of perks you expect to get and a price you expect to pay though - that way you'll be able to catch anything she might overlook.

I don't know if you're already a AAA member, or if you'll be signing up just to book the trip. If you'll be signing up, that's where you can potentially save some money. My husband and I both got cards for just $49 total . The one-time admission fee of $20 was waived and the fee for the second card was waived. We had to be very persistent though!

Hope this helps even though I didn't lead you to an agent!

Where are you in Colorado....ours in Ft Collins is okay...not the most knowledgeable, but still good. She didn't know if AAA offered discounts on the tours, which they do, but it is on the brochures, etc. She is still very helpful and easy to work with. PM me if you need names, etc!

Ya know - I'm not trying to be a downer here, but I wish you didn't have to "pay" for the benifits that AAA offers. When I'm booking a DL or WDW trip, I bounce around to at least 5 different travel agents and I do tons of research. Every single time I've gotten a better rate either doing it myself, or booking through someone else.

But they do have some great perks! I just wish you got the deal to match it.

We're in Colo Springs, I got a local AAA agent from someone at work today, and was able to get my bookings done, just a few minutes ago actually :) We got the Paradise Pier with the 4th night free, 3 day park hopper for $1009, 2 adults and 1 child. It was $1004 on the disneyland website -- but I figured the fastpass, free parking, plus all other benefits were worth the $5 extra.

JDarling, I wish we didn't have to pay extra for the AAA benefits either, but I really wanted the AAA fastpass, and I figured this package was the best deal we'd get with the 4th night free deal.

Yup! Looks like in the end (for your package) you'll at least end up breaking even! :) It's a great service, that's for sure. :)

bumping this for angey77, who also appears to be having difficulty finding a knowledgeable agent. It seems many of the agents here in California have a bit more experience with DL resort bookings than many of the agents in other parts of the country.
