Just wondering if anyone has had a problem booking on line with Air Tran? I am trying to book, and pay using a mastercard and it is telling me, right at the end, that there is a problem with the payment system and to call Air Tran. So I call them and they say just try it again....well guess what, same problem again

Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else. Ideally I want to book online becuase it *seems* like the coupons for $25 off which are supposed to expire are taking (although this could be the source of the problem, but I doubt it as the same thing happened to me last time I tried to book online) so I want to make this work, and not book via the telephone call centre.

Yes, we have had a problem eveytime we had booked with them. I will give you a trick that worked with us. ( One of the CS reps asked me to try..and it worked great, and now we have no problem)

When you type in your postal code, leave out the last nunmber. Their system is made for a 5 didget zip code.

Let us know if it works!

Problem is AirTran's system doesn't recognize Canadian addresses.

So the pp is 100% correct this:

will work

Personally, I just put in 90210 as my zip code because I can! :thumbsup2

Hi, I had a problem both times we booked to, and it was actually the bill that came in the mail being say Box 333, town and so on, and me typing in 33 Whatever Street as an address. I actually got my statement and used exactly what was there and had no problem at all!

I had no problem putting in my postal code when I booked (back in Feb), but when it came to the payment page it took me back to the home page. I called them & they told me I had to change a security setting in my browser, they told me how to change it & when I rebooked it worked fine.

Same here and no problems in the end!

I've never had a problem booking with AT. I just booked in June and it was fine.

Actually, one small problem.... I got those $25 coupons AFTER I booked.:headache:

I had that problem too. DH is a Airtran frequent traveller and it did take awhile to get that postal code thing fixed.

If it is a problem I just entered 00000.

Or 90210 works too :rotfl2:

When I booked my Airtran flight, I booked through Kayak and had no issues. I learned from the transportation forum if you book Airtran through Kayak you are not charged for seat selections. I was able to book my flight and pick my seats and I was not charged. Just a little tip if you weren't aware this.

It would not accept my visa card but it did accept my paypal account which is deducted from my visa account

I read that after I booked, but now I know for next time :)

Ya....I found that out about an hour after I paid for my seats. :headache: I would have saved $48. That's like 75% of my parking cost. :headache:

Thank you all. I will give it a shot and see what happens. I have added my USD mastercard to my paypal account and just tried via paypal (assuming maybe it was a problem with them 'validating' a canadian mastercard as a payment method) but it didn't work. So, will try the postal code thing and also try kayak along with it. Appreciate your help! :thumbsup2

I would love to know if works ... how you got it to work and if you were able to use the coupon.:goodvibes

We are planning on booking our flights soon....were going to do it tonight but I am hoping you will post to let us know if the coupon works:rotfl:

Somewhat of an update:

1) Found on the Transportation Board that someone else had tried to use the coupons and got the same error at the end....which leads me to believe that my attempt to cheat the system will not work (karma you know ;))
2) The same person also advised they ended up with tickets booked without the coupon and without realizing they had done so...so I am going to give up trying as without the coupon I want to wait for SWA to open up and see if that lowers AirTran cost
3) I earlier said I was going to try via Paypal...I did and while my AirTran account shows no bookings, Paypal is showing 'pending' a payment to AirTran for the amount of the tickets (the amount including the coupon reduction) so I am going to keep an eye on that one for sure!

So, long story short, I am going to give up and keep watching the various sites to try and snag a deal. It still better than flying out of Toronto no matter what happens!!!!!!!

Don't know if this helps you or not but I have heard of people booking the flights, but not booking their seats & then using the coupons to book seats at a later date. You're probably using kayak though for your seats.

We decided to go ahead and book our plane tickets.
I booked through Kayak to get the free seats,
I used the "90210" as our postal code :rolleyes1 (its as close as I'll ever get) and we paid Paypal. Everything went through NO Problem and no wait.

Paypal's exchange was .899 but that's not that bad really...could be worse right:confused3

So, USD the total round trip price was $149.20 each....that's still a good deal...cheaper than driving. (especially with 2 little kids and the inlaws:lmao:)
