Anyone had luck with a last minute Hoop De Doo ressie?

We are will be arriving at the Fort on Friday. I have called and there are seatings available for Hoop De Doo, but most are at 9:30. I was just wondering if anyone has had luck picking up a cancellation during their stay at the Fort.

When we were there a few years ago, something happened to our reservation - they claimed it was never paid, and sure enough the cc was never charged.

Anyway, they did make room for us - right down front at the edge of the stage. Unfortunately it was right by the stairs where the CMs came up and down from the stage and I always seemed to be in their way.

This time we are opting for the cook-out instead of HDDR, but I did make sure the reservation got charged to the card.

Yes, we were recently at FW and I called a few days before we left home on the off-chance something had opened ... although I wasn't expecting it.

But to my surprise, they did have an opening for our party of 3 at the 7:15 Saturday night that I wanted!!! Earlier calls only had seating for 9:30.

So, yes, cancellations do happen.

last October we had HDDR ressies for the first show on our arrival night (bad on my part.. but we were supposed to be there by noon)..

we got caught up in traffic due to a bad accident on i-95... we literally sat for HOURS.. I started calling dining around 2pm knowing we weren't going to make our reservation..

we were easily moved to the next night... then, the next day, DD caught a nasty bug and could not leave the room... called Dining around 4pm.. and we were AGAIN accomodated.

We were never charged a penalty (even though we were in the 24 hours), and were rebooked both times easily.

So, things DO happen.. keep calling... but the besst trick is to call FIRST thing in the AM, b/c that's when the bookings that were cancelled the day before are opened up.
