Anyone Had Any Luck Lately Getting Room Early?

When we stayed at Kidani in September, we used online check in and I don't know if it had anything to do with it but when we arrived at noon, I was shocked that our 1 bedroom villa room was ready and we got right in.

We are checking in at SSR tomorrow(just a studio)and also used online check in. We will arrive around noon again. I was just wondering what the chances are of having our room available this time? It sound like crowds are lighter so maybe there is a chance? We are definitely not counting on it but just wondering if anyone has noticed more availability before the 4:00 guarantee?

I got a studio at Kidani in June around 1:00pm, didn't use online check-in.

It can depend on how many rooms are empty tonight. Those rooms will be available first thing. Good Luck! Have a great time!

Did online check-in for BCV in September. I thought we wouldn't get in until 5 or later, and that's what I put, but it turns out we arrived at the resort around 10AM. Now, it was a Saturday, but they gave us a room right away!

Hello have fun just came back on 2 Nov., we arrived at 10 in the am and did not get our room page until about 4 in the pm.

we checked in on line for an Oct. 25th arrival at Kidani. Got there at 9:00 a.m, received a text at 10:00 a.m. saying our room was ready and what room # we were in.

I've been very lucky to have been able to check-in upon arrival all three times this year at DVC resorts. Each time I got between 11am and 1pm - used online check-in each time (but I doubt that makes any difference).

I figure if my assigned room is ever not ready, I will ask if any others are. As long as something is open, I'm sure they will change it.

We were at BWV in October. We used online checkin and arrived around noon. Much to our surprise and delight...our room was ready!

I got into my 1 BR SV room at BWV early - 1 PM - but I was checking in on a Saturday, which could have been the difference.

The only time our room wasn't ready when we arrived early was when we used online check-in. Our room wasn't available until after 5:00 pm.

We checked into SSR the Sunday before Thanksgiving around 12:00 and our 1 bedroom was ready. A few days before that, when we checked into the BWV, our room wasn't ready until well into the afternoon. I had done online check in for both, saying we would be checking in around lunchtime. So far, I am 3 for 4 with online check in having the rooms ready early!

We did online checkin for our 2-bed at Kidani the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived at the resort. We got a text around 3:30 that the room was ready. I think it also depends on the size of the room you are checking into.

During our stay at Kidani in October we arrived around 1:00pm on Sunday and our 2BR Standard View was ready and waiting. We didn't use online check-in.

I noticed that a couple of people mentioned Saturday. Is Saturday a big checkout day so that incoming guests have a better chance of getting in the room earlier than usual? Just curious.

We hopped resorts in October (BWV to AKV, 2 bedroom villa to 2 bedroom villa), and by the time we were hopping, two of us were sick. (One sick adult - me, one sick child - DS.) We had not done any sort of online check-in, and I don't know if they keep track of resort hoppers. We stayed in the room at BWV until the last possible minute resting, then drove straight to AKV. We checked in at 11:30ish, and the room was not ready although they did know what room we were going to be given. The CM drew us the map to the room, but just didn't give us the exact number and said we would be called with the room number as soon as it was ready. We did tell her that two of us were sick (and I think she could tell, anyway), and she did push a "rush" on the room cleaning.

We waited in as far out of the way viewing areas as we could for a couple of hours. We couldn't go to the pools (being sick), and we were trying to stay out of the lobby and any clusters of people because of said illness. DS was getting seriously cranky since 1) he wasn't feeling good, 2) he couldn't go swimming, 3) he couldn't lie down and rest, and 4) we were trying to keep him quiet. After about 2.5 hours of this, we gave up and went over to AK for a couple of hours. This made DS happy, and the rest of our wait passed painlessly. (We'd have done this to begin with if we hadn't been sick, but we were originally trying to avoid crowds of people. We tried to avoid other people at AK, and I hope we didn't pass on the bug.)

We finally did get the call that our room was ready at 3, so it was ready a little early. However, that was about 3.5 hours after we checked in, which feels like forever when you feel terrible and have a child who feels equally terrible.

I will say, our experience made us very, very unlikely to be willing to ever resort hop again. It honestly wouldn't have been a problem if we hadn't gotten sick at WDW, but we can't count on never getting sick again. Being "homeless" for those hours and being forced to stay in public areas was really tough.

We checked into Kidani at 9:30 am on Sunday 11/15... and our 2 bed savannah view room was ready! What a surprise! We were thrilled, and did not expect that. We did not do online check in, but I had called MS and requested 3rd floor near lobby, and I got that request.

So you never really know... sounds like Golden Rose didn't get a room early, and she most certainly needed it.

When we were at WDW in August, we did online check in and we arrived at 1pm at Kidani. Got room right away. The a few days later we moved over to OKW (had never stayed there & wanted to check it out). We took bags over at 10AM. They said rooms not ready yet, but they would call us. They never did call... but luckily we had decided to just leave our bags in car and go to Blizzard Beach for the day.

We checked in to BLT on Sunday 11/29. LV studio was ready when ME got us here around 2:30; I had estimated 2 PM when I did online check-in.
