Anyone had a brazilian blowdry?

Ive read about this new hair treament called Brazilian blowdry and was wondering if anyone had had it done or knows anyone that has?

Im lead to believe that once done i wont have to straighten my hair at all just wash n blow dry and it will be straight.
Im looking for someone to tell me thats right ? Also wondering how it held up in florida and humidty??

ETA: She is a fitness freak and her hair is up, down, in a cap and probably gets sweatier and is washed more than some peoples, hope this helps.

My friend had this treatment a hile ago and I think it lasted about 3-4 months, though I think it was quite pricey.

Ditto! Just ensure you are in a hairdressers only, rather than one combined with a beauty salon, if you ask for one

Well remembered Jackie - it wasn't a Brazilian though

She had it chemically straightened - has had it done a couple of times

Do you know roughly how much that costs Joh? I enquired about this sort of treatment with the hairdresser today, but at that particular salon they'd stopped doing it as it took so long. They said I'd be about £200 for it, which I expected would be the case.

She was classed as a 'long hair' treatment and hers cost £125 each time. For short/medium hair, it was £100.

I've had one, I won it in a competition. Glad I didn't pay for it as it would have been about £150. It lasted about 3 months and I had to use special shampoo and conditioner they gave me. I still had to straighten it (my hair is very thick and wavy) if I wanted it to look straight, but it took a fraction of the time and it blow dried very quickly too.

I'm not entirely sure it's worth the money beyond the convenience factor, though, it's not as "wow" as I thought it might have been. Long since worn off now. The really annoying thing is when you have it done, you can't wash your hair or move it or tuck it behind your ears or put it up or anything for three days, and it has this thick gunk on it. That's what makes it set. If you sleep on it and it gets a kink in it, you have to straighten it out again straight away. Then you go back and have it washed out and straightened again and it's done. The three days of lankness is horrible!

Thanks for the reply !! Very informative and seems the same story as others that the first 3 days is a nightmare !
There is no way i could do 3 days without tying my hair back it would drive me nuts !!
I also dont see what i gain if I still have to straighten it ?? Back to the drawing baord I think maybe try The chemical straightening !!
