We paid $167/rt last year - wasn't really expecting that much. I'm also flying Spirit out of Atlantic City which has always been a little cheaper. What's everyone else's experience?

It depends when you are leaving. I was looking several months ago for our vacation over Labor Day and I couldn't find anything cheaper than $205. We paid about $650 for the four of us last year so I started checking out other airports. I ended up going with SWA out of BWI with a price of $594 for the four of us. Keep checking around, especially if you have several airports you are willing to fly out of. Good luck!! :D

Southeast Air advertises a special on direct flights from ABE to SFB for $59 one way. I think they are $79 without special.:)

I paid $215.50 for R/T from Philly to Orlando in USAirways for our upcoming trip. I booked this back in February. I was just checking, for a friend the other day for R/T from Philly to Orlando on AirTran. They were having a sale...$69 each way. It came to $159, or something close to that! Don't know if they are still having that sale. That was for travel next month. Oh, and BTW...our airfare is now up to $339.50 each!

The Airtran rates are for travel through 11/5

I just made my reservations on May 9th. I got a flight for 9/20 return 9/25 with US air for $168.50, I actually booked this through United's website because they had the price I wanted and the times I wanted. The USair website had the $168.50 price but the flight out of PHL was not until 12:30 and that is a waste of my first day, since I would not get to my hotel until around 4:00pm.
I generally use USair I find that if you search for price rather than schedule you can do pretty well. Last year I flew in December and the cost was $164.50, I had booked that in August.
I have the 10:30 am flight out of PHL and the 4:30 pm flight out of MCO, when I checked on this flight the other day it was up to $265.00 roundtrip.
You really have to check every day, sometimes more than once a day as the prices change so frequently.
AirTran flies out of PHL and I have heard a lot of good things about them. They have none stop flights and the flight times look pretty close to what USair runs.

just booked this morning on airtran web site a web special for $163.50 each from philly to orlando for Oct:bounce: :bounce:

go to www.airtran.com and try your dates

Thank you everyone for your replies!

I bit the bullet & booked w/Spirit out of Atlantic City for the $253.00 rt fare at the end of August. They had the 7:00 a.m. departure from AC and 6:30 p.m. departure from MCO that I wanted - at the days I was looking USAir wanted $1,011.00?!?!? I've never "done" layovers before & TO ME, the difference in price really wasn't worth going up & coming down again.

Knowing my luck, I'd wait until the end of July & the prices would be way up there. Of course, now that I've booked, the prices will be way DOWN there - hope everybody can take advantage of that luck & have a drink on me at MCO!!

Cheers - Jane;)

RT PHL MCO USAIR website 4 weeks ago for $168 rt. 7:00 AM out 3:30 return.
Seems that a few weeks after the WDW Fairytale package started the prices have risen on Air and rental cars!
My National car rate for an intermediate car went up $40 a week from a month ago.
Sure glad I didn't wait to buy. Got lucky!

I'm leaving for WDW on June 14 on USAirways frequent flyer miles, but one of the members in my group is paying $167.50, which is a pretty good fare (though I've done better in the past). I prefer USAirways for a number of reasons, especially for the good number of non-stop flights. I would have preferred leaving earlier in the day (we have a 12:30 p.m. flight), but otherwise I'm happy with the deal.

I paid $191 r/t on USAir from Philly for travel June 13. But, I also noticed that a fare of $153 was available for travel on any day other than Friday (the day I want to go). Not sue what the fares are now. I booked about 60 days ago.
