Does anyone know how these are shaping up? I would love to hear anything about them, but this information is hard to come by!

With construction wll under way, the Beach Club Villas may open as early as spring 2002, but no later than fall of 2002. Apparantly demand for this resort is so strong that Disney is considering opening up sales as early as this fall. I strongly believe that BCVs will be the quickest DVC resort to sell out.

Here's a picture from the bridge near the International Gateway. (It's pretty big; haven't had time to resize.) They're going up pretty fast...

Thank you both so much! irodk, why do you think they will sell out faster than the other resorts? Do you think they will be nicer than what is currently available through DVC?

Thanks again! (We are trying to decide whether these villas are worth waiting for!)

Size-wise, the rooms are supposed to comparable to the Boardwalk Villas or Villas at Wilderness lodge. I'm sure they will be of the same quality, w/different theme.

The biggest draw for BCV will be LOCATION - walking distance to Epcot, the great pool at Stormalong bay, etc. The location caused BWV to sell out quickly. I understand that VWL are also selling quickly, but many people are holding out for BCV.

There's more discussion about them on the DVC board.

Hi invalid_char. Basically KCritter outlined the reasons pretty well. But I would like to add that the recent trend for the DVC has been that each WDW location they build seems to sell out quicker than the one before. BWVs sold out quicker than Old Key West(of course, there were alot less units for sale, but still, sales were quite brisk), and the Wilderness Lodge Villas are on pace to sell out by the end of this year or possibly early next, nearly one full year after opening.

Also, I spoke to various sales people at DVC who each told me that demand is very high and that they're getting far more inquiries about BCVs than any other DVC resort in the past, and the place isn't even finished yet. It seems that many existing members are seriously considering buying add-on points as soon as sales open up. As KCritter mentioned before, the location is "primo"(less than 5 minute walk to Epcot, and 15 minute walk to MGM). and the pool is, well, beyond compare to any other on property.

irodk and kcritter, thank you both very much for the feedback! We as a family are trying to decide whether to wait for the Beach Club Villas or buy a Boardwalk resale (people on the DVC board are very pumped on Boardwalk because many of them own there and love it)

So we're trying to get unbiased opinions, without having stayed at either resort.

From what I've gathered, both have basically the same great location.

Boardwalk is more lively, adult-oriented, doesn't have as great a pool but has better dining options. Beach Club is more quiet but has the great kid pool. We're thinking that we can always visit the Boardwalk and dine there but will not be able to always visit the Beach Club pool unless we buy there.

This may come down to us having to visit the Beach Club Villas when they are nearer to completion, but I'm wondering, if you're more familiar with the properties, what would YOU do??????

Thanks again for your feedback! I really appreciate it!!!

It's really going to come down to your personal preferences and money. All of the vacation club properties are beautiful and well maintained.

I guess the best advice I can give you is to buy where you want to stay the most often. Go check out both the boardwalk and the Yacht & beach club. Even if the Villas aren't done yet, it will still give you an idea of the amenities available.

I'm sure DVC will raise the per point price by the time they start selling the Beach club villas. Also, the points required to stay a night at BCV will also be higher than those required for BWV (if the trend continues).

Two things to consider. First purchsing a resell is generally $10+ a point cheaper, but may have had it's points "borrowed" for the year or next. Second, rumor has it the views from the BCV will include parking lot, street and bus stop (unless moved) with only a few (very few) Epcot or lake.

invalid_char -

You might try asking this question on the DVC board or on the Resorts board (since a DVC villa is basically a home-away from home at the resort).

I can't wait for these to open! I've had the cash tucked away for a while now! Can't wait to become an owner!

Can anyone confirm this?
The beauty and tranquility of the VWL site was a prime reason we bought there. Would be interested in BCV add on but have not been able to visit the construction site personally.

PS thanks for posting the photo horizonsfan.

Remember, invalic_char, that if you buy at BWV, you have access to all pools on Disney property as a DVC member. BWV is only a short hop from Stormalong Bay!!!!

We were there a couple of weeks ago and took a "nose" around the BCV, and they look like they're shaping up nicely. They seem as if they are going to be the same type of building as the WLV, but of course, I'm sure with the "beachy" theming that we enjoy in the BC hotel. I have to agree with the poster who said that they heard that most of the views will be parking lot, with very few EPCOT or lagoon views...just from seeing them and their location on the BC property, lagoon views will be few and far between...the BC hotel is in the way!!!!! I still think they are going to be great, because of the location, and even a parking lot view at Disney is pretty darn good most of the time!!!!!
