We're considering going. We live in Victoria, so its a long way. Any suggestions on the best way to get there?

We were in Paris in october and i kept seeing signs for DL Paris and their halloween celebration. It would have been a short trip there on a train but we didn't have time. I soooo wish we could have gone!

My sister is going in August with her family. There is a board on here for Disneyland Paris which has a lot of really good information. I've been reading through some of it for her. Mousesavers has a trip report from their trip in 2004 I think. It gives some good touring information for Paris in general as well. It would be nice though to have the "Canadian" view on going over there.

I don't know about Paris today. The last time I went to Paris was 8 years ago... and I swore at the time that it'll be the last time for me to go there. The ignorance, the rudeness, the tendency to cut lines (everywhere), the racism (against non Francophones) are just far too much for me to handle.

I have to echo at least part of the last post, although I hope Disney may be different. I have spent time in Paris twice, the last being two years ago and of all of Europe, it is truly the last place I have any desire to return to. It's just a different mentality. Would I spend two days there - run around like a madwoman and see everything then scoot out somewhere else? Yes. Is the Louvre and Notre Dame worth seeing - absolutely - the top of the Arc de Triomphe? Yes!!
Versailles - a do not miss - just don't make me feel like I owe you something because you allowed me in.

Good Day,

We went to DLP almost three years ago. I have to say I was disappointed, if not shocked. I am certain Walt would be spinning in his grave if he saw the condition of the place and the surliness of the cast.

Many walkways were cracked and broken, many uneven, some with weeds growing through. The cast are in many cases multi-lingual but all had an attitude of "don't ask questions, just follow the crowd." The oarade was pretty weak and the food was expensive( and not very good), as was the accommodation. There was one indoor pool, this during the famous European heat wave of 2003.

On the positive side, the stunt car spectacular now at the Studios in DisneyWorld was well worth seeing. There is also a movie show with Martin Short as the host - I believe it was called MovieMAgic or something like that - which was just great. It should be transported to DisneyWorld as well.

One thing that was slightly off-putting for me was the fact that instructions were repeated in several languages. This could be because I speak and understand English, French, German, and Dutch, but it seemed to interfere with hte enjoyment of the place.

The European visitors seemed to love the place. We were talking to one couple who asked us if DisneyWorld was as good as Disney Paris. After we finished chortling we told them that we thought this place was very poorly run and presented and DisneyWorld is hundreds of times better and bigger. They seemed surprised that anything could be better and indicated their intention to visit Orlando to compare for themseleves.

Would I vist again? - clearly no. Was it worth visiting? - I never turn down an opportunity to visit a disney park. I still have Tokyo and Hong Kong to do!

My DH went in Jan 2005 when he was in Europe on business and had the complete opposite impression. He thought it was the most beautiful park, the landscaping, architecture etc. He really enjoyed it even though it was Jan and it was raining.

I don't think I would make a special trip all the way from Victoria but I would love to go when in Europe.

LOL, Dsneygirl, I love your baby ticker tape message!

Thanks everyone! We are actually going to go to Portugal (my parents own a condo there) as our main holiday, but would like to have a sidetrip to Paris. My boys are in french immersion, and I know a little french. I was in Paris in 1992 and I found that if you speak to the french in french, they were actually very nice!

We've been to WDW twice, and DL 5 times, and a disneycruise once, so I like the idea of trying out DLP. When I checked the website, it listed excursions you can take to Paris and Provence right from the resort, which seems very convenient! Anyone done them?

I don't know if we should fly to Portugal and then take the train to Paris, or if it would be more economical to do it another way.

I'm loving everyone's frank comments on their experiences! Keep them coming!

As far as the park itself goes, it's not that bad, it's been referred to often as Disney Lite. You cannot compare it to WDW, but in it's own right, it's OK. There are some of the rides that are at WDW there (R & R coaster, Buzz Lightyear, Lights Motors Action). Expect line cutting and rudeness and sky high prices for everything. In the rest of France, the people are nice, but the Parisiens are.. well...best leave it at that.

Funny...while visiting Epcot's France area, I found the French CM's to be very rude...I laughed because of their reputation.
