Anyone going to WDW in 2011 and getting excited?

i am SO glad that I am not the only CRAZY one here!! HEE HEE

I and 3 other friends are planning on going in May 2011 and we have already begun choosing which restaurants we want to eat at. We can't really do much more than that at the moment as we are waiting for our allowance to book through DVC 11 months in advance. Once we have the dates secure we will being planning daily activities!!!

Lets make it more interesting....any good tips for some 22-23 year olds to do on their two week vacation in may???

Planning on going in 2011 for the March break. I know it will be busy....but who cares? It's Disney!

We are planning March Break 2011 too.
We are DVC, so I will be on the phone in less than30 days to make our ressie at the 11 month mark:banana:. We were there March break 2008, and it wasn't really that busy as most states have different weeks off then us.
Have great time planning, I know I will.:thumbsup2

We too are going in 2011, but also going this year. We are hoping for 2 things this year:
1) to get Free Dining
2) to be able to book Bounceback for 2011

Our kids are quite young and we plan to visit every yr until they are a little older and want to start doing different things.

This is us too...only we booked the bounceback last year and will book it again this year!

Our boys are 4 and 5 and we're also planning on Disney yearly for the new few years at least.

Yes, thats the plan..mid to end of April 2011 if not May 2011. Friends of ours haven't visited yet and we all plan on going together. May stay at POP again but rent a car for a couple days and head out to see NASA and Universal and of course we MUST do Disney again :goodvibes

We leave for Disney in 37 more sleeps!! yeehawwwwww :woohoo: time seems to be passing by ever soooo slowly though.

I am new to this and kinda confused. What is a DVC?? and what is the bounce back:confused3

Are the Dining packages worth the money? I have read in one book (The unofficial guide)that they are more confusing than what they are worth. Any suggestions???

I am more inclined to think about booking my holidays when it is cold and snowy. I wish they would open this up earlier for us to book because I have to book the other hotels in Crystal river and in St. Petes really soon before I book Disney and that is confusing.

Any good suggestions where to stay in Cocoa beach???

I want to know what bounceback is as well

Strawberry Girl - I totally feel like the dining package is worth it. I enjoyed doing all the dinner shows and special character meals and not have to worry about the bill afterwards. I kept all my receipts and it ended up making sense $$ wise. We did the Deluxe Dining plan.

We booked Cocoa Beach for a night before we went on a cruise. I used hotwire and it worked out okay... I wouldn't go for less then a 4 star though... the 3's were a little sketchy looking... There are tonnes of choices there!

Do those who have DVC think they are getting there $$'s worth. I also can see us going at least every other year. I haven't looked to much into it but it is intriguing!

I can't stay off the websites looking for idea's and suggestions on where to stay and already thinking of ADR's... And it isn't till next year!!

Mrtr62: thanks for the suggestion. Did you have to wait in line or did you have problems with getting food at the courts? Where are you looking to stay? I would LOVE to stay at the Poly but I saw the regular prices:eek: and now we are looking at the POP for our stay. I am :confused3 on what to do. I am reading the Unofficial Guide to WDW and I don't know what to do really.

But what is a ADR and a DVC?:confused:

All of this is confusing because we can't book yet. I go from excited to frustrated really easily because I haven't been to Florida. I don't even know if they have palm trees or not:lmao: This is very new for me. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks again.

AACK I was reading one of the posts and they said that the wk before Easter is going to be crazy in 2011. Me and Hubby are scrambling trying to figure out if we should go the Easter Monday and onward, or what we should do. I can't pull my son out of school for more than a wk and if I am going to fly 10 hrs round trip, I ain't going for one wk only. So, what do I do??? I am soooo :scared1: and :confused3 I am going to post this as a new subject here too.

Thanks

ADR is advance dining reservations: These can and should be made 180 days in advance. Your TA can do this for you.

As for the dining plan, it all depends on what you eat. It is $41 per adult ages 10 and over. If you eat at a your sit down at night and order an expensive meal it is worth it, but I would look at menus on the dis site to see what you would actually order to see if it is worth the money. Kids wise it is worth is in most restaurants.

DVC is Disney Vacation Club. There are several resorts that have a time share type ownership, however anyone can stay at these hotels, they have 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom villas- They are generally very expensive to stay at, but are really nice.

We are still looking at dates for 2011...I really don't want to pull my kids out of school. My dd aged 7 has missed 16 days this year due to illness. This seems to be the norm for her. We were considering March break as some friends told me it wasn't that busy a couple years ago. I heard this year has been crazy busy. I hate crowds. We are now considering the Wed before spring break to the Wed during spring break. I am also anxious to see the school calendar for next year. This year the kids only got a couple PD days due to a longer summer vacation. either way we are going just not sure when.

strawberry girl - We didn't have any problem waiting in lines for food as most of the resturants were Advanced Dining Reservation. My favourite book is the passporter... I like that you write everything in it and of course the DIS boards have all the info on them...

I think it would be nice to stay at the poly or other deluxe resort but how much time are you really there. We spent a couple of 1/2 days a the resort pool and I have stayed at the allstar movies and Carribean Beach and would pay the extra based on the pool and atmosphere for the Moderate. I found the value was very motel like and crowded. I felt the Carribean Beach was quieter and the pool had a great pirate ship for the kids to play with. We are probably going to do another Moderate or go to a Deluxe for a couple of days.

fitmom 3 - Our school calender is on the website for the board as a draft for 2011. We don't have any PA days between March Break and Easter. Check you boards website or if you know a teacher they have the draft already and may give you a sneak peak.
