Anyone going to see the Toy Story Double Feature?

We just got back and it was well worth it-loved seeing these two movies again on the big screen!!

A few words of advice for those planning to go:

-Don't get too psyched up for the 3-D effects-there were barely any "pop out" effects. Definitely did not ruin the movies though-they are great the way they are!!

-Get there early! We got there 30 minutes early and the theater was already half full with a HUGE line at the concession stand-I've never seen it that busy! We went to the 1pm showing but there was a massive line for the 5pm show when we left the theater.

-If you are planning to stay for both movies, have someone hold your seats during intermission if you are running out for something. There were several people who came just for TS2 & they ended up taking many seats that belonged to others who just left to take a quick break.

The trailer for Toy Story 3 looks awesome!!!!:cool1:

We went this evening & had a great time :thumbsup2

Ours was $8.50pp & I'd say there was at least 20 minutes between the movies. We went to the concession stand, restroom & was back in plenty of time.

oh im going on tuesday and cant wait! i love TS and havent seen it in a few weeks. every time my mum saw the posters while we were in disney she reminded me we were going to see it when it came out. i bought a Wii just to play toy story mania at home, i think our trip made us more TS obsessed than disney.

Call your theater ahead of time and make sure it is a DOUBLE feature. I just talked to a friend who went tonight in a different state thinking it was a double feature and ended up only seeing TS2. I guess there was a lot of really peeved people and the manager would not issue refunds. So word to the wise, check before you go!

I know there definitely will be an intermission. But I don't know the cost of the feature.

Edit: I just found out the prices. At the regal by me, it is Matinee: $10.50 adult $10.00 child. Post-Matinee: $13.25 adult $10.00 child.

To give you a basis for those prices, the normal prices at my theater is Matinee: $7.00 adult $6.50 child. Post-Matinee $9.75 adult $6.50 child.

That would mean that it is a $3.50 price increase.

Yes, that's what I found when I was looking at the prices. There is only one theater in my area (not even really in my area, but 13 miles away) that is showing it. They show all the 3D movies. They are charging $12.00 per ticket for the matinee and $14.50 for the evening showings. Their regular price for 2D movies is $8.00 matinee and $10.50 for evening.

I do need to point out, that the price does not reflect the fact that it is two movies. You still get Toy Story 2 for free. Those prices are what they charge for ALL the 3D movies they show. Which tells me, if a movie theater has to charge $4.00 more for a 3D movie, Disney should re-think this 3D mania it seems to be on.

Needless to say, we went to see 9 at a more local theater, where the tickets only cost us $6.50 each.

Something seems wrong here. I believe the movies are released as ONE. The tv ad even makes a deal about getting BOTH movies for the price of one. I would be more than just peeved. Something's up with that theater. Me thinks they are cheating.

We wwent last night and the theatre was delightfully empty for the 8pm show. Had a grand time except for a few issues we had with the theatre itself.

Toy STory was never meant to be 3D so of course there are no "pop-out" effects in it. I don't understand why anyone would think there would be. The reason it's in 3-D is to add depth to the scene and make you feel like you're "in" the movie...which it did.

We are going today! Can't wait. This is going to bring me back to when I was 10 years old...hehe

Our theatre had them as separate showings - but BOGO.
They had TS1 @ 3:40 & TS2 at 5:40. If you bought any ticket to TS1, you could use it to any showing of TS2 & the reverse. So if you came @ 5:40 for TS2, you could use your ticket to see any showing of TS1 after that. I bet your friends was the same.
