March 18th falls on a Saturday this year. It'll be the 50th anniversary of POTC. Typically I go to DL on Sundays. I was thinking of going both days that weekend to ride Pirates and to celebrate its semicentennial. Anyone else going specifically for the 50th?

I will be there that weekend, but for gay days and not for POTC specifically. Between gay days, POTC anniversary and a cheer competition that weekend, the crowds should be about 11/10.

The 50th anniversary along with Mini Gay Days, it's going to be a fun weekend.
Perhaps Disney will have an AP event similar to the 20th anniversary of Indiana Jones.
There will certainly be special merchandise.

I'm considering going for the day for mini gay days, the anniversary, and to see the MSEP (we're between AP's and don't have any trips planned until October). But I'm on the fence because it's a lot to spend to go for one day, ride a couple rides and see a parade. I wish I knew for sure if MSEP is going to retire after this season or come back in the future, because if it will be back I'd rather save money until our next AP's start.

It's the day we arrive - we won't get into the park until around 7pm and buying a days ticket just to ride POTC on that day :)

It's my favourite version in most of the Disney parks, we only haven't done Shanghai's and I'm loathe to count that as it is a different attraction altogether really!

We will be there, not specifically for the POTC anniversary, but because it is our last day, we fly out that night, but we are looking forward to the anniversary of POTC before we leave. Bit bummed it will be so busy that day.
