Almost we have been going since 1993 or 94 i think and have been about 17 times started to stay onsite 1996 and bought dvc in 1999.longest we have done is 3 weeks which was last year.would say have done 35 weeks wdw,1week vero ,1week hilton head island,1 week disney cruise,1 week disneyland and 1 week vegas.Have loved every bit of it, life is there to enjoy yourself. Before you ask it works out cheaper 2 weeks wdw than 2 weeks disneyland paris.moto the kids dont remeber the times you were saveing for cars but the fun and magic

Hey guys - when you book these back to back trips to get the free dining do you have to use two different names? Thanks! (WE may actually get to take our first two week vacation next year and IF they do free dining want to know what to do.) :)

paulh, I did not think that I would have a problem finding enough to do for the 20 days but with Millionaire closing down before we get there (I had planned 4 days there just to play that) I am not so sure. We are going to the Luau and La Nouba, play some golf etc. Do you have any other suggestions for fun things to do that we might not have considered? (Jellyrolls, piano player at DL and other things are also on our list) Sounds like you are like us. We just do not find other places as interesting as Disney. There is something for anyone. :sunny:

VAbear, we just booked under our names. I do not think it is all that uncommon for people to spend extended times at DW. When you think of what many 'resorts' cost and how little there is to actually do at most of them DW just makes sense. With the high gas prices you can just use their transportation and save big bucks and lots of wear and tear on the driver (and passengers) as well. :thumbsup2

A fun thing we like to do is go to Port Orleans Riverside once or twice to see Piano Man Bob, he is a riot and its a great place to take the entire family.

we used same name for both back to back ressies, they have no problem with that but only allow max 10 nights per ressie.

only extra cost was we had to buy a park pass for the 10 day reservation and a 1 day pass for the second one.

SlightlyGoofy sometimes we go and dont do disney :furious: but just stay there and vist outher places in florida. We love the waterparkks and now we tend to do 2 or 3 park days while we are there

paulh, the days of our frantic rushed vacations are long over and I am sincerely glad of the fact.

DW is just a great resort. Too many people just think of the parks and there is so much more to enjoy. We go to the parks most days but more for the flower gardens, sights and small entertainments than the major rides etc. If we happen to go by and there is not a line we might bop into something just for old times sake but we keep things low key and relaxed.

We like to go over to Boatwright's to eat and then catch Bob afterward. It is better than Jellyrolls in that you can breathe. (smoke, don't cha know??)

We eat at the Poly or WL and then go down to the beach to catch the EWP and if we are lucky we see the MK fireworks from the beach and then take a bus to DTD and wander around a bit before heading back to the resort.

I read on the boards about someone who played Bus Bingo in that they would get on the first bus that pulled up and go wherever it took them for an off the cuff adventure and continued doing so for the day or evening. I think that will be on our list this time.

One evening we like to do the rides and such at night. A different perspective. Riding the monorail at night is a blast as well and you can get off here and there and have a beer! :rotfl:
