The Delicious Stuff is the Stuff I Remember the Most
What does McCormick and Schmicks, The Crab House, The Rainforest Café, Morton's, T-Rex, Bubba Gump and Yak and Yeti have in common?
All of them are part of the stables of that mega-food, entertainment and gaming company, Landry's Inc. Irrespective of how you feel about corporates....you gotta admit....Landry's has built an impressive portfolio of restaurants that caters to the casual dining segment.
Today, I was only concerned with the one-of-the-kind Yak and Yeti restaurant in that Landry's stable. I had a noon-time ADR for today. Aside from wanting to make it to FotLK, I really wanted to make the ADR and have lunch here. It was just as well that both boys had perked up enough to stay at AK. I really hate eating alone. For the record, I might hate eating alone but I will if I have to.
There were a few people trying to check it at the same time as us. Some of them were being turned away because they didn't have a booking. I guess I could have picked up some strange family to eat with me if the boys had ditched me for SAB.
With an ADR in hand, it didn't take very long for us to be shown to our table.
I didn't make any special requests for my table; I was quite prepared to take pot-luck.
Pot luck was running my way today. I was absolutely delighted when the hostess walked this way!
Lots of full tables....
....so we kept heading away from the central staircase.
From air-conditioned Lion King to air-conditioned Yak and Yeti. It was just as well that we were indulging in activities that required us to sit. DH still wasn't 100% yet.
The caring spouse that I am....I was more concerned with my view.
....and checking out the menu.
DH decided he needed a hot tea to drink.
As the day was in the high 80's, I think my mango concoction was more appropriate.
For lunch, DS went with the sweet and sour chicken. Surprisingly good.
DH went with the Ahi Tuna salad.
Even though there was lots of green stuff, at least he was getting some protein to eat as well.
I went with the crispy Mahi Mahi.
All the meals were delicious!
I've always loved Yak and Yeti. Their Pan Asian cuisine is right up my alley and the chefs do a great job with the food. It's the delicious stuff that I will remember the most about this trip.
We did look at the dessert menu but there was nothing there that tempted me. Sad, but true.
