Anyone from the west coast go to HHI?

I would love to convince DH to go to HHI, but he thinks it is way too far and too inconvenient since there are no nonstop flights, etc. So, I wondered, if you have gone from the west coast, was it a big pain? Was it worth it?

Okay, we went from Billings, MT, so Salt Lake is our hub and it was definately worth it!! We made it into a week long trip. We flew in to Savannah. We stayed in Savannah overnight because our Delta flight was really late in there. We toured Savannah for a day, rode the Old Towne Trolley, checked out Lady and Sons, etc. Then, we took off for Charleston. We stayed 2 nights in the Charleston Holiday Inn-great location, great consierge. We did a walking tour of the city, went out to Isle of Palms and did an "eco" tour, went on a city tour (driven), ate great food, soaked up an art fair there across the street and loved it. Then, we went to HH to relax. I believe we were there 4 nights. We absolutely loved it--relaxing. This trip was the first week of June. We had great weather and it was not too crowded. Hope this helps.

P.S. We are 2 adults, one daughter (14) and son (10) at the time.

Thank you so much! That is when we would consider going next year, early June once DD gets out of kindergarten, or Sept. and just take her out. Anyone else?

we have been to HHI three times. The last time we flew into SAV and stayed the night. We were going to go to tour Savannah but DD got sick (flu like symptoms) so we went straight to HHI. We love it! SAV airport is very small and finding HHI is very easy.

Go for it!

We drove from Orlando to HHI (after spending time at WDW). It's a nice resort, but we wouldn't hurry back, it's a long drive from Orlando. We also prefer a resort on the beach, not a mile or so away. We prefer Vero over HHI.
