Has anyone seen any decent prices for flights for Christmas week. We are thinking of going down. I know, I know, nuts:scared: and last minute. I know the prices are going to be higher than in April/ May, but any help would be great, as the prices I am finding are out of control. We are looking for 8 nights, leaving on one of these days Dec. 22 to Dec 24 from Edmonton and coming home one of these days Dec. 30 - Jan. 1, 2008. Thanks to any ideas.

I should have not just sent this to Albertans. Anyone that can help, would be greatly, greatly appreciated!!!!!!

You're looking at travelling during the single busiest two week period of the entire year. You're going to pay thru the nose for those air-tickets and for your hotel rooms as well.

Maybe not then:confused3 :confused3 . We have done Christmas at DL once, but never at WDW. What about last minute flights, or is that even worse????

The cheapest flight I could find for those dates was United for about $780 return. That is flying out on the 24th and coming back on Jan. 1. It's not great flight times though - 2 stops on the way down and leaving at 5:30 a.m. on the return. We were able to score flights on Delta for $350 (including taxes) round trip from Edmonton, but we booked several months ago. Also, I believe almost all of the Disney hotels are booked solid for that week. I'm not sure about off-site hotels, but that may not be a good solution for the busiest week of the year. Staying offsite, you may not be able to get into some of the parks during Christmas week. Good luck with your plans.

try leaving Christmas day. I've seen some low fares (not necessarily to LA or Orlando) on that day. It's not usually a high volume day.

Normally prices are very high. You might get lucky and find a one day seat sale or something similar. Bev r. suggestion is a really good one if you do not mind travelling that day:goodvibes

We agree, you are looking at traveling during one of the most busiest times of the year. At this point is no longer a matter of finding a cheap fare, but finding a flight with enough seats for you and your family. You're probably looking at around $800 - $1300 per person for a ticket.

I was actually just checking flights from calgary to orlando for xmas... the best i found was westjet for $640 (Dec 24/29). return fare is on sale for $189. Not too sure about edmonton, but u'd think there'll be a similar seat sale fare for you guys as well. good luck!

Thank you to everyone for all your great ideas. WE GOT A FLIGHT!!! We leave from Calgary Dec 24 and come back Dec 31. We got a pretty good price, only a few more dollars than what our May 07 flights were. So look out Mickey here we come. Now I need a car and condo:eek: :scared:
