Anyone Fly Out Of Albany, Ny???

I can't seem to find any good deals out of Buffalo , for my friend, March 6th to the 13th.( for a party of 6)

Any fellow Canadians fly out of Albany , instead of Buffalo?
Prices seem ok for that time .( not great... but Buffalo is showing no availability.)

Not sure how far it is, or what's it's like...

Any info, would be greatly appreciated!!

I've been scanning for flights, but I think the farthest I'd drive is to Rochester, NY or Cleveland, OH, 4.5 hours away.

Just took a quick look at Southwest, Cleveland to Orlando, and they have flights available for under $100 each way, nonstop, for your friend's dates.

I haven't done Albany, but DH and I flew out of Syracuse last summer. It was great. The airport is small, easy to manoever, parking was right there, and, despite an almost 5 hour drive [we considered it as part of the trip], I would do it again, barring weather issues. I'm not sure where your friend is coming from, but, for us Buffalo is @2½ hours, Rochester 3½ and Syracuse 4½-5 hours.

Looks like she went ahead and booked out of Buffalo( $256 one way , each! OUCH ) I think she said she got $129 back. Wow.

It's her first time , and I really wanted to find her a good deal.

Oh well. Last year we payed $54.00 each way, in March..

I guess it's still better then Toronto.

And , NO, she was not interested in setting up Ding fares..( I already told her!)
Sounds like she's ok with that price.

Hmmmm....the poster Debbie has the best grip on upstate NY geography....if you are looking for the next closest airport to Buffalo's (but in the US)....assuming you live in the Toronto area ....you're 2nd option would be Rochester, NY, then Syracuse, NY, THEN Albany!

All upstate cities have modern, beautiful, easy-to-negotiate airports....point is - don't drive to Albany until you've checked out Buffalo, Rochester AND Syracuse!
