OK, to cut a long story short we have been badly let down by First Choice (change of plane, not enough premium seats!!!) and hubby refusing to fly in Economy on Charter flight!!! ha! ha!

Looking at alternatives and wondering what people's experiences have been with Air France? There is a flight that goes from Birmingham to France, France to Atlanta and then Atlanta to Orlando................will that be a nightmare?!!! What is the food, seats, service like?!

Thanks so much!

Would he really rather do 2 changes rather than go economy ? Cant be that bad surely, its only for a few hours !

Good luck finding something though.

Used them once and never ever again. Planes were fine but the staff, both at the airport and on the plane, were, withou doubt, the rudest people I ever came across. Examples: after arriving in Paris for our connecting long haul flight, we were late as the first flight, also AF, was delayed, we approached a member of staff to enquire on something and she literally ran away! (I'm not that scary). On the long haul part of the flight, to an English speaking country, the cabin crew refused to speak English to anyone! On the way back they were overbooked and offered to send us on 2 different flights, though DW was pregnant with our first child! Many many other examples. I'd rather walk and/or swim than use them again and my opinion of them is high compared to DW!

First of all , I'm not French , I'm actually Belgian, so my comments should not be taken as a compatriot opinion :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

We flew with airfrance from paris to los angeles in premium economy a few days ago.
The premium economy seats are slighly wider, a little extra legroom, but they are certainly not worth the price... the economy seats were strictly the same.
I think they missed out creating a great premium economy class, so do not bother with that ( well you have a bigger personal tv screen, prior check in, and extra luggage allowance)
Virgin premium economy is better!

well apart from that we found all the air france crew ( at check-in, bagages drop, flight attendants) absolutely adorable
They were so very nice and the inflight service is great
If you can afford it the airfrance business class is absolutely gorgeous , air france is in the top 3 business classe service excellence.

I would fly direct in economy if I were you, three stops are a lot ....

Remember the higher strike risk using Air France. Our French cousins will go on strike over nothing.

Not sure what service you are considering. Due to the Ash cloud at Easter we were changed to the Atlanta to Paris route, its operated by Delta not A/F, only options are Economy or Business Elite (what we were in) no Premium seats.
I would never rule out the route but direct is far easier. This August opted for Virgin (economy out, PE in) rather than wait for another Business Elite deal, yes its a far nicer way to fly but the route you are considering is not a great way to go.
