So I searched for hotels for a few days online. Our trip is March 27th-29th and I've gotten a head start. I decided to try priceline by word of mouth. I put a bid in for $50 dollars a night on a 3 1/2 start hotel && didn't really expect to bring anything up.. but worth the try. Well I ended up getting the Anaheim Crowne Plaza Resort for $50 a night. Not too bad being that one site was offering the rooms at $169 a night. Anyhow, I've done my research and read reviews, nothing horrible. But I want all my DIS fans opinions. If any of ya'll have stayed there can you pass on some info please. I would love you guys even more than I already do :goodvibes
Thanks.

Know it well and have stayed there before. Like you probably saw from the reviews you'll be paying another couple of bucks for a "resort" fee which covers parking, a shuttle and internet access and really isn't a bad deal compared to getting any of these things from other hotels.

The Crown Plaza isn't the Hyatt or the Hilton but it's also not the roach motel. You'll find a friendly staff, a clean facility, comfy bed, working tv and overall nice environment. Parking can be tight if it's a busy season and since you're far from the park the shuttle ride takes a little bit.

On the upside you're just a couple blocks from some out of parking dining options, you can easily come and go, there's a large pool and it's a friendly place. Depending on the day you may find a small conference or business travelers or families and kids but either way it's built to accommodate. I had no issues with noise in my stays at night and found things to work just fine.

No real tips about stuff to watch out for or worry about as it works smoothly and if you have any special needs I'm sure the hotel will help out. Just realize the internal facilities are lacking so bring any food, water or other items you need in, the gift shop is big but not so useful on practical items.

Thanks for your info!! I just much rather have DIS board members reviews than just random internet reviews. How far away from the park would you guess that it is?! Im not too worried about it being that they have the shuttle. Again, thanks for your info. It's appreciated.

My DS and I stayed there through PriceLine a few years ago. The room and hotel itself were very nice. I did self parking which was a real pain as the main hotel self parking spots are on the side and in the back. When you park in the back you have to walk down this strange walk way around the backside of the hotel where there are trees and when you look through the fence you are looking down into residential yards. Kinda of strange:rolleyes2 . Then you have to enter doors and walk through the banquet facilities. Or...you can walk all the way around to the front of the hotel. There are just a few spots in the front that aren't valet but there tough to get. The lady that checked us in at the front desk said we could park in the restaurant parking lot and no one would bother us (but there are tow-away signs all over and I wasn't risking it). So, my point is that if I had it to do over again I would fork out the $11-$14 a day for valet parking for the convenience and personal safety.

Just wanted to say Have a Fun time!
And congrats on getting such a super great room rate:thumbsup2

We stayed there not that long ago and we really enjoyed it. It's a nice hotel! Plus we got a super deal like you did. It's a little far to walk IMO, we have a parking pass on our APs so we just drove. I'm not sure about the shuttle though.

Hope you enjoy it! The beds are very comfy!!

We have stayed here twice now. As guests of Shell Vacation Club so we didn't have to pay the resort fee. We did self park and the worst part is the walking in after parking. BUT the lot is HUGE and there is a ton of available parking around the back. We have not done the valet parking. The rooms are nice, they are a decent size and not too loud. The shuttle was free and it was a regular pickup/dropoff. It is a shared shuttle but it's worth it. :) The staff has always been pleasant to us and if we could stay there for $50 a night we would definitely do so! You got a great rate!! I do have 1 complaint.....we got a wake up call our last day in the hotel, at 3:30 in the morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHA???????? We did NOT ask for a wake up call!!!!! And NOT that early in the morning! YUCK! I think we know who did tho, because not long after (I had trouble going back to sleep) we heard yelling and banging next door. I'm guessing they missed their wake up call. Overall I really like this hotel and you probably will too. Oh distance from the parks, I wouldn't walk it, it's way too far, it's a couple miles from DL.

Thank you guys SO much for your reviews. I feel moer at ease now that I know I have some opinions for people who actually know what their talking about =] Im really excited about the trip. It will be DS first trip ever && he will be 3 so Im more excited for him then myself, && thats unusual :rotfl2:
Now lets just pray that the weather is nice. Im not too worried about the crowds, I just don't wanna be rained on:rolleyes2

We enjoyed the hotel each time. We also bid using Priceline. No problems ever. They have a free shuttle that departs every 30 minutes. Very convienent. Walking distance are some great places to eat too.... Red Robin, Joes Crab Shack, Outback Steakhouse and then across the street is a Target with some other places too.. We drive but once we get there leave the car and take the shuttle (and we have AP's with free parking) The beds are comfy - I think the dream beds and they have IPOD docking stations too. plus a number of relaxing sleep things to give you as well........

You will love it...

Nice thanks for the review!

we have stayed there, we had a nice room, slept really well. the biggest downside is the parking. . . especially if there is any type of event, ie wedding there.. . .. . the night we were there some members of a wedding reception got into a HUGE fight by the elevators and unfortunately that echoed down the hallway. . . but the beds were comfy and they provide you with a sleeping CD with some lavender sheet spray AND one eye cover thing (sorry blonde moment on what those are actually called). .. so once you park use the free shuttle. .

It's an eye mask. And fyi, we didn't get that earlier this month when we were there. I was sad but not enough to complain about it.

Looks like me && DD9 have something in common :rotfl:
She about 14 years my junior but that's perfectly fine :rotfl:
After all, when your visiting the Happiest Place on Earth it's ok to pretend your whatever you wanna be. My DS3 thinks he's a Pirate. Sometimes I think he is myself.:confused3

I managed to score this place for $72 from Hotwire. Not too bad, glad that it's a nice place. My thing is that we'll be driving from LA to DLR in the morning, then hopefully heading over to the hotel, checking in, and shuttling back after maybe a quick nap.

I'm not excited about paying for parking in the morning, then paying the resort fee when we get there but oh, well.
