We're going to Comic Con in San Diego (hubby is a geek) and then after touring for a couple of days, heading to Anaheim via Amtrak. I'd like to leave late afternoon, so I'm hoping we can leave our luggage at the Santa Fe depot in San Diego for a few hours while we tour Old Town, then retreive it and get on the train. Is anyone familiar with the station? Are there lockers? I can find all kinds of info online about the architecture and history of the station, but nothing about the facilities. TIA!

There are 2 San Diego Amtrak stations. The one in Old Town definitely does not have any lockers. No building, even. The final station, downtown, has a large building, but I don't recall seeing any lockers. The station info on the Amtrak site doesn't mention any kind of lockers, either. If you're staying at a hotel, they might hold your luggage after checkout for you to pick up later.

Thanks for the info. We're leaving from the main (Sante Fe) station downtown. I was just hoping to avoid doubling back to the hotel for the bags (assuming they'll hold them in the first place!)

I think since 9/11 there are fewer public places where you can store luggage...and that's probably for the best, but it'd be convenient!

I'll try to call Amtrak to see if we can check our bags, even if we're not leaving on the next train...
