Anyone Familiar with TD Waterhouse Area?

DS (14) has an opportunity to extend his stay for one week with friends and attend a Magic basketball camp this summer. The facility is across the street from TD Waterhouse. Is this a nice/safe area? Any concerns I should be aware of before I make my decision?
