HI,
I was interested in purchasing tickets for a children's show they will be having. It's about an hour and a half away from my house and was wondering how the shows were. Also where would be the best place to sit and are there any restaurants in the area? Thanks for any help :)

Ooooo! I love the North Shore Music Theater! It is a "theater in the round", and it is pretty small, so there really are no bad seats. I believe there are only 15 rows at the very most, so you have a good view from anywhere. They have been completely renovated since a fire in 2005, and I hear it is very nicely done. The last show I saw there was "A Christmas Carol", and it was wonderful! I haven't been in a few years, so not sure what restaurants are in the area anymore. If you haven't been already, here is a link to their website:

Enjoy the show!!

Under the Box Office section is a seating chart. When I lived in Danvers, I used to go every year to see the Christmas Carol. I thought it was fabulous. I see they're going to perform it again this year. I wish I were there. I think they also have a restaurant right on site.

Have fun. It's a great theatre in the round!

Edit: Sammy, you beat me to it! :)

Haven't ever seen a childrens' show there, but my parents went every summer, and when my dad died I accompanied my mom for ten years. They're extremely professional, and while I've seen negative reviews of the musicals, I've never personally been disappointed. Bored, maybe, but that would be due to a lack of interest in the particular show (thinking Sweeney Todd).

Where are you coming from? There's a restaurant at the theater, but it may not be open during the day. Chain restaurants okay? A few exits before the theater and right off the highway is Liberty Tree Mall. There's an Applebee's, a Kelly's and a Denny's, and a Red Sauce, and a Sylvan Street Grill, all without actually going into the mall. In the mall, there's a Vinnie Testa's and a food court. Come to think of it, two exits before that is Northshore Mall with several restaurants including Joe's American and Legal Seafoods, and the ubiquitous food court.
A few exits further north and you come to Ipswich, Gloucestor and Rockport - all great locations for seafood.

I'm a season ticket holder for all six summer shows. They do a very good job, and there really are no bad seats. Since the renovation after the fire they got larger, more comfortable seats and some wonderful stage equipment so the sets, etc are even better than before.

There are some wonderful restaurants right in Beverly. We like Garden City Grill on Enon St, right near the theater. Also in that area are Not Your Average Joe's, Nick's Famous Roast Beef, Baja Fresh, Panera, McDonalds. Rantoul St is a major street downtown, with a lot of good restaurants. With kids, Casa de Luca for very reasonably priced Italian food and all you can eat salad and breadsticks is a good choice. Cabot Street is the main street, there is excellent sushi, Thai and pizza.

Thanks for all the great advice everyone! They are doing Cinderella and my daughter loves her thought it would be a nice trip. I will be coming from Worcester . I think I will book itin the AM. I did note that they had a restaurant on site and I checked the menu which didn't seem very kid friendly. My daughter is a pretty fussy eater. You all are the best thanks again!

One of my best friends designed the costumes. YAY I used to work there too. I'm not to keen on the restaurant there. I would suggest any of the restaurants at exit 24 - Unos, kellys, in the liberty tree mall there is a Panera bread, Vinny T's of Boston (which is italian) there's even a dennys there or there's a fun place for hamburgers called Johnny Rockets (it looks like a fifties diner) at the North Shore mall. I don't remember the exit number but you can google, it's only about one or two exits away. If you like seafood you could check out The Clam Box in ipswich.

The place is great! My DH and I use to go all the time (BFK-b/f kids). Before the fire, all the seats were good. I am sure when they rebuilt they didn't change the seating to much. Have a great time!
