Anyone excited about Legoland Florida

boy have not heard about it.

please give details and where it would be?

also does this mean the lego shop at DD will be closing?

This is from the wiki.
Legoland Florida is a planned themepark in Winter Haven, Florida scheduled to open by the end of 2011 by the Merlin Entertainments Group. The park will be located on the site of the former Cypress Gardens. Details of the park were announced in a news conference with Florida Governor Charlie Crist and park officials along with news that approximately 1000 jobs will be created by the new park.[1] Merlin purchased the property in February 2009 following Cypress Gardens's bankruptcy for $23 million.

I think about how beautiful the Carlsbad location is the Flroida location will be on a grander scale.
they havea website but not much info just yet. legolandflorida.com

thank you - that is good news - hope they have something for adults.

will be living close by - by then (I hope)

But is already open? I mean, can we go already? The last time I heard sth it wasn`t ready...

My grandkids would really love Legoland. They have tons of lego and are always building something. The location will be good for those vacationing on the Gulf coast too.
We'll all be ready for another big family vacation by the time it opens. :)

I am! I use to play with legos when I was little LoL. But I miss Cypress Gardens =/

We are completly excited about this!! We did our first Disney trip to California last fall and originally had Legoland scheduled in for a visit. Disney wiped us out and we never made it there. Although we wish that we would have chosen Legoland over Seaworld.

We are starting to loosely plan a 2012 trip and very excited that we can include Legoland in our plans!!

I would rather visit Florida Legoland than have to go to California.
Looking forward to maybe Visiting-DS is getting older and not sure
if it will be as appealing to him as it was when he was 7yrs. He is 14 now.
He talks about going back everyonce and a while but not sure if they
will have much for his age group.
Does anyone know where Legoland Florida will be located?
How far from WDW?

We are sooo very excited about Legoland. We visit the DTD Lego store 2-3 times during our week of vacation, and we don't have kids. Hope they have a lot that can be enjoyed by all ages.

We keep thinking about a trip to DL and would include a visit to Legoland, but when we look at airfare from the east coast to the west coast and consider our WDW annual pass, we head to Orlando again.

Very excited! We went to LL in CA when DS was 6, and we loved it. He will be about 12 or 13 when we go back to FL, so he might not so psyched. But at this point, we buy so many Legos that I feel like I am subsidizing the cost of building the new park.

It will be located about 45 minutes southwest of WDW in Winter Haven. They are converting the old Cypress Gardens theme park into a Legoland.

Oh wow! My daughter will love this. She will sit and play with Legos for hours.
