A new Portrait Innovations (www.portraitinnovations.com) just opened near us this week. I am taking DS tomorrow at 9 (first appt. of the day - no waiting :thumbsup2 ). I know they move around with the camera instead of having it on a stand. Which should work well for my wiggly toddler. Any advice for getting the best pics? Do they do a good job?

We have one here and I love it. You can go once every 3 months and get 10 sheets for $10.95. It is a single pose but great deal! The reason I like it is that the sets are not just backdrops. For Christmas they had an actual tree, presents, and fireplace mantel! I hope you like it. Also, for first birthdays, you can bring in a cake and let your little one go to town!!

Is the one at Southpoint open now? I saw they were "coming soon". I will have to get an appointment for the girls soon!

I went to the one in Cary last year and had a 9:30 appointment and still had to wait 45 minutes!

Our Portrait Innovations is awesome!!! They take so many pictures there is no way you won't get a good shot and you can't beat the package price. I don't know about you but once I see the pictures it's hard to choose just one pose and of course I always buy more. I plan on spending around $80 every time we go there and get the package plus three more poses and the CD with all the pics on it. There's no reason to spend more than that since you get the CD and can print from home or many of the machines that are in stores these days. They load the card from your shoot into this big screen plasma TV and when you see the pictures it's so hard to pick so why not go for the CD. That's why I have WAY too many pictures and no where to put them!

I'm going to be taking my DD17 there in July for her Senior pictures and can buy every picture they take of her and still not spend what the portrait studio that is doing her school's pictures is charging. Start saving money now for Senior pics... $395 was the cheapest package and only included 2 8x10, 4 5x7, 8 3x5, and 32 wallets. HUH?!? I about fell over in my chair! I don't know who they think they are but I'm having PI take ones similar to what I liked. There were some that I really really liked but I'll be able to get similar and not have to shell out that much $$$. If I would've bought what I liked from that studio it would've cost me almost $1000 and that was with a discount for ordering before her deadline. WOW!! To those of you out there dealing with the whole Senior picture thing right now my advice is pick the yearbook picture that they have to take for free and run, run, run, to another studio! To all who aren't dealing with this yet you're going to have to start saving now or find another way of getting them like I did.

Now that I'm done with my little tangent... You'll really enjoy getting the pictures done there and I'm sure you'll want more than the package but you can go back every 3 months or have a family member make an appointment in their name and go back sooner if you really need more pictures or have more than one DK that you want pics of. It's so great being able to carry the pics out the door with you too. Have a fun time and don't forget to stop buying when you get to the CD. Print the rest at home!

It opened yesterday I think. Their number is 806-1085. I'm hoping since I got the opening appt. it'll go okay. Do you live nearby? I live in Durham about 4 miles from Southpoint.

How much is the CD?

Thanks

I love Portrail Innovations!! I won't go anywhere else now...they're prices can't be beat and we always get great pictures!

What also is great is that you can make changes to your pics before they print them...black and white, sepia toned, borders, etc.

If you buy a certain number of poses, you get the CD for free, which has all of your proofs on it. Can't beat that deal. I highly recommend them!

Once you get to a certain point dollar wise it's included and has all of the pics they took on it. For ex: you get your package and then add three more poses/packages, three sheets of each of those poses and you hit the $80 mark and get the CD. You can break down your sheets just like you can basically everywhere else where 1 8x10, 2 5x7, 8 wallets are all considered one sheet. You're walking out with a lot of pics but there's enough to go around plus you have the CD. We have 5 kids and a huge family so itworks out well!

Portrait Innovations is the only place that my DW trusts. She likes walking out with the prints in hand, and the photogs do a good job of getting our "not always cooperative" DD to smile; if only for an instant. Just make sure you don't go during your toddler's normal nap time. This could make for a very stressful session.

Another Portrait Innovations vote here. They are a great place to have any type of picture done, we even saw a wedding party at our location not too long ago. The price is fair, picture selection excellent, and we also like to walk out the door with the pics.

Make sure to bring a change of clothes.

Another thumbs up! I wish we had one in Columbus. We had Christmas pix taken there a couple of years ago in Charlotte, NC and they were great. I know we spent under $100 and got the CD along with family pictures to send out with Christmas cards and pictures of each of the kids. They were great! My dd's felt like movie stars with papparazzi!

Sounds like a good place, but they are not in NJ yet.

Another YEA! for PI. The only downside, if you want to call it that, is I could not, even with the help of my mom and gramma, pick less than, oh, 20 poses. We ended up spending almost $200 for his first year portraits. We used Target (since it's closer and more convenient) for his second year pics last week, and they take significantly less frames, but that made my decision easier. I'd still use PI, though, after our Target discount card expires.

Another vote here!! I took my kids (5 and 3) to a new store when it opened in Feb. They were awesome! They took 93 pictures of my 2 kids (both together and seperately) and there wasn't a bad one that had to be deleted. They had about 5 different backgrounds/props. I would highly recommend them and will definitely go back. No more Kiddie Kandids for me!

I spent $100 yesterday! The pictures were SO good. The beach scene they have is so realistic. I have never ever bought more than a basic $9.99 package anywhere. But I just couldn't help it. Although I do wish I had changed his outfit. They offered and I said no but now I have like 10 different poses with the same outfit. The grandparents are going to LOVE these. My Mom said she'd pay half if she got first choice. I said no problem! DH didn't even get mad - he loved them too.

We had one open in Nov. 06, Myself & a bunch of my neighbors used them & were very happy! Great deals, I only took the package of 9.95 (it gave me a TON of pictures!!) It's digital too, so they took like 100 (seriously 100) pictures in 2 rooms, it was me, DH, DD6, DS2--that's the age of most of my neighbors kids too, but we all had great expriences w/them!! Good luck! And you don't NEED to get anything if it happens to be a "bad day" for the pictures
