Found a good vacation package with southwest for airfare and hotel stay at The Anabella Hotel which is across the street from Disneyland. Wondering if anyone has ever stayed there. How was it? I like that it is close to DL and that they have there own little restaurant with good meal prices. It also looks to have pretty landscaping.

G'day

We have stayed at the Anabella a few times. It is actually my prefered place to stay in Anaheim.

We found it was agreat hotel. Each room has a small fridge and is relatively spacious. We stocked the fridge with milk and cereal for the kids, casue when they wake they like to eat :) and yes it is very nicely landscaped (palm tress opposed to what we have SNOW)

The hotel has a nice resturant we had a few breakfasts and dinners at and was good food. The pool and hot tub were great!!, eveynigth after we came back the girls went swimming to relax and we relaxed in the hot tub. They also have laundry facilities we used due to teh length of stay there.

Onsite is also a small gift store with a few convienence type products (cand bars, q-tips...etc..) but also within walking distance to several other store (7-11) and resturants.

To get to the park you walk directly north about 15 minutes and cut the the Grand Californian to downtown disney or you can take the tram, usually about every 15-20 mins. Coming back just do the reverse.

You wont be dissapointed with the Anabella.

cheers and enjoy

Thanks for the tip about best walking path. It will be me, my DH and DS (16) and mostly me and DS will be heading to the parks. That's why I decided on The Anabella because DS may want to relax there while we go to the parks, I like that there is a restaurant for him and DH can always meet up with us in DTD later.

There are also a couple of other little restaurants over there that are open really late, diner types. We stayed there once and had a nice stay, we would definitely stay there again.

We are staying here Feb 29-Mar 1. I am excited about it and the reviews were awesome. If we were in this area longer, I would have used it for our whole trip but we have a resort in Escondido since we will be in San Diego a lot of our trip too.

We stayed there in Dec 2010 with our then 6 year old. We loved the hotel but my favorite part is the staff, they made our stay magical we will def stay there again.

Just an example, my son brought his pillow pet Spot with us and when housekeeping came in everyday they posed "Spot" like he had been enjoying the room all day. He was somewhere different everyday when we got home. On the couch with the remote, sprawled on the bed reading a Disney brochure, tucked into my son's bed with a sleep mask on etc and we were there 5 days without a repeat. My son was always excited to see what spot had done that day.

Def use the route mentioned above it is a nice walk down the path through nice landscaping and a pleasant chance to see the interiors of the GC in route.

I've stayed there twice, and it's been great. On our last trip, we had Mission Suites, and they were AWESOME. Loved the little bedroom with a daybed!

The walk is very pleasant, and much less crowded than the Harbor Blvd. walk. Loved cutting through the Grand...so pretty!

We stayed at the BWPPI for our family trip in October, since we were dealing with mobility issues. I must admit though, that while being close was nice, there were times I definitely missed the Anabella.

I appreciate all the positive feedback on the Anabella.
I'm new to DL and it is a big difference from WDW which we
usually visit. There is much less information about DL than WDW.
I have found it harder to plan.
I will miss the Free Disney Transportation from
the Airport that is so easy but I'm learning and hoping that
everything will be smooth. This year the cost was much
less expensive to go to DL than WDW for us because the cost
of Airfare has went up--got a great deal from Southwest Airlines
for the Anabella--the package was cheaper to stay for 8 days than
6 days, which is OK with me--2 of those days are mostly travel.
The package cost (airfare and hotel) was the price it would have cost us for just airfare to WDW. :woohoo:
