Anyone ever sky dived in Orlando area?

So my husband is turning 30 and I know there's a list of things he wants to accomplish in his life. One item on his list is sky diving. Now this isn't something I just want to open the phone book for a pick out a place.

Has anyone sky dived in Orlando or Tampa?

We did the indoor sky diving through Sky Ventures in Orlando.

I know there's a small airfield near our home that offers sky diving lessons (not in Florida). Its several ground classes before you even get to go up in the air, then you jump with an instructor (tandem) before you can go by yourself. I checked it out a couple of years ago. It was also very pricey!

I never have but know people who have at Deland airport. Many people go there to skydive.

I'd be interested too! I've skydived a few times around home and would love to do it in Orlando/Tampa. Tandem is usually cheaper than jumping yourself (you can actually jump, around here anyways, where people are there to help you if you can't get your 'chute open and then you have a headset where they radio you instructions down after you go to a 4-5 hour class in the morning. Very intense!)

So I googled Sydive City in Zephryhills but I think we won't be going there....they've had a history of fatal accidents!!!!

I'll check out Skydive Deland. It's a 2 hour drive from Tampa but I'm not opposed to driving that far if I know people have used them before!

I've done the one in Zephryhills, they were very professional (tandem jump)
DH has done the Palatka and Canaveral one as well
He liked Canaveral the best

As for accidents, they happen everywhere
it’s a chance you take jumping out of a perfectly good airplane
