In Jan I rented a crib from ABBF and while their service was great my DD only slept in it 1 night and my DH found it a pain to assemble and pack back up. I was planning on using the hotel's porta crib (I think Poly still uses porta cribs vs pack n plays) in October. I was hoping she'd be sleeping better as she's walking now and will be more tired. But then I wondered if she might like a toddler bed. It seems like it would be a whole lot easier to assemble and she'd have the comfort of a full size mattress. She'll be 21 months and she's now about 27 pounds.

Anyone ever use ABBF's toddler bed?

Why not put her in the other double bed, maybe use a bedrail?

I have never used that service.

I agree with Bev...

I would put her in the other bed using bedrails or I would probably sleep with her. (We do not sleep together at home but on a trip I am always worried)

We have rented cribs from ABBF several times and they were assembled and disasssembled by the owner of ABBF. I would think they would do the same with a toddler bed. I would use the type of bed you currently use at home so your child doesn't have to make a major transition while on your trip. I'm one of those people who believes in not disrupting a child's routine, especially at bedtime! I want us both to get a good night's sleep!

people have posted that ABBF have changed their policy recently and you are now required to put the cots up yourself.

We have 1 room at Poly concierge for me, DH, other adult friend, DD(5 1/2), DS(3 1/2), DD(21 months). So it will be friend in daybed, DH & DS in 1 queen, DD(5), and I in other queen. I'd like to avoid last years situation of me in bed with 2 kids. I got very little sleep. But now that you've asked---I'm thinking I could always put one of the older kids in the toddler bed-but then again they might fight over it. She generally sleeps well in her crib at home but does sometimes end up in bed with us.

wow, that's a lot of people in a poly room. sticking a toddler bed or even the pnp in there is going to make it even more crowded.

how close are you to the third adult? could you have him/her sleep with either you or dh and put the two youngest on the daybed with a bedrail? i had my 2yr old on the poly daybed and there was plenty of room (i know this because i was 6 months pregnant and had to spend half of one night on it with him  )

In Jan we had the same group with a full size crib, single stroller and double stroller. It did help that we were staying concierge so we could relax in the lounge too or take the kids as they got ready in the morning to the lounge. The crib fit next to the amoire perfectly-couldn't shut the door on that side but we could live with that. The toddler bed should fit there too and this year we will only have 1 single stroller. I really think I'm leaning toward getting the toddler bed as I'm sure I can get at least one of the kids to sleep there leaving 1 kid/1 adult per queen and our friend in the daybed.

I can also rent a DVD/VCR from ABBF to help the kids relax and to listen to the Wishes CD I plan to purchase there.:teeth:

ABBF's website says the toddler bed is assembled but I wonder if that is true as they no longer assemble the cribs. I'll wait til Frances has passed and call or email them to ask if it has to be assembled and if so if they will send directions so I can judge if DH would think it was a pain. I could send him off with the kids and do the assembly.

My husband and I rented a toddler bed from ABBF last September. We stayed in a room with a king bed at the GF RPC. The toddler bed fit perfectly between the king bed and the wall, although I did have to get out of the other side of the bed with my husband. It was a like new molded white plastic bed which the valet brought up on a cart with a toddler mattress to put on it. All the bedding was clean and in another bag - it was a dalmation print like the one they had in their picture. This worked out great for our almost 3 year old. He loved it - the mousekeeping would set up his animals on it every night and even did turn down service on it and put his chocolate mint on it. Even though we could have put him between us in the king bed it would have been a nightmare - the few times I have tried this he's either plastered to you or rolling and kicking everywhere in his sleep. I was very happy with the arrangement and thought it was well-worth the money.

So there was no assembly? That would be so great! I know what you mean...I'm hoping my oldest would fit--she's the worse one! Or maybe I'll stick her with her dad.:teeth:

Nope, no assembly at all. We just had to put the sheet and comforter on it. Because we stayed concierge and they couldn't access the room, ABBF said they would leave it in the luggage room before our arrival which they did. We just called down to luggage upon arrival and they brought it right up. We also just had the valet take it down and leave it in the luggage room for ABBF to pick up when we left. Very easy.

Hi.
we rented a toddler bed from ABBF- no complaints. Though next time I may either bring or rent bedrails (if ABBF rents them) and just put 5 and 3 y.o. in same bed.

Hi,
I was just reading a post about renting from ABBF. I am not familiar with this abbreviation. My DD was two in May and is still sleeping in a full size crib. I think she would be much more comfortable in a full size crib as opposed to a portacrib or pnp. Our routine is going to be disrupted enough and I don't want her sleeping in a bed for the first time on vacation. I can picture her wondering the room at the crack of dawn. How do I contact ABBF? Thanks so much.

Kathy
