anyone ever rent a car from L&M?

Dont' do it! I heard very bad things about them. Try doing a search on L&M.

Go to the Transportation thread and look for some recent posts on L&M. Some people report good things about them and the prices (on Orbitz for ex.) are WAY less than the majors - like $97/week for compact before txes & fees. Good luck! I'm thinking about them myself, but am not sure yet.

We rented a van from them last year and had no problems. They're easy to get to in the airport. Very inexpensive. We're renting from them again this year.

We rented twice from this company with no problems at all. Rates on those trips could not be touched by other companies.

Last trip got a better rate through National on a larger car, so I took it. Next trip - so far L&M is winning again.

thanks for the tips. For those who have used L&M, what type of insurance info do they ask for? Will a Platinum card cover all thier questions? Thanks. Toom

We've used L&M twice with no problems. We always carry our insurance card, but they've never asked for it.

I think this is who we used when we went. Nice clean car, no probs.

One thing to be aware of or at least prepared for is the seemingly never-ending taxes and fees that are tacked on to the final bill. This is true for all of the companies though, not just L&M.
We were definitely shocked at the total bill once all that was added on.

We declined the insuance they offered 'cuz we used our Amex that already offers coverage for rentals. Check with your CC about what they offer.
