Anyone ever recommend a service and had it not go well?

Just curious...I recently recommended my cleaning service to a friend and it did not go well. I have not spoken to the friend since the issue happened but heard from the cleaning service and while they are not upset with me, I feel badly for recommending them in the first place as they are now out time and $. Anyone ever recommend a babysitter, mechanic, service to a friend only to have it go wrong? What did you do to resolve the issue?

Yes, just last year. I recommended a vet's office for my friend. She had a dog and cat who needed a yearly exam and shots etc...I raved to her about the office I go too.. I have gone there for several years, never waited more then 10 minutes, everybody friendly and helpful. She made an appointment, went there with her dog, cat and 3 kids, and waited over an hour and still wasnt seen.She had to leave because her youngest was in diapers and she didnt have anymore left..
I felt horrible when she told me she sat for an hour and nobody offered her any reason why they were running so far behind or apoligized ...

Honestly I had never experienced any of that with this vets office...

People's needs and expectations are just different. Maybe the issue wasn't service related or anything that you could have anticipated. I remember a friend that used a cleaning service and she was livid that they missed a few crumbs in her microwave-which honestly, isn't something I would expect a cleaning service to take care of unless they were specifically cleaning my appliances.

I have made recommendations to people and they haven't been as happy with them as I have been but again, it comes down to personal preference. I still use them, they don't.

I have been on the receiving end of some bad recommendations and I just don't ask them for recommendations any longer-this turned out to be REALLY bad service-which doesn't bother them, bothers me.
