We are toying with the idea of only travelling with carry on but I am worried about having too much to fit in our bags on the way home. Last trip we had to buy another bag:sad2: on the way home. So I was just wondering if the cost of sending a parcel home was outrageous. Obviously it would depend on how big the box was, but in general how are the rates?

Thanks

Sue

The rates to send to Canada are much cheaper then mailing items within Canada. My parents go to Florida every year and I often order items and have them delivered to my parents then they mail the items to me. The shipping is usually quite reasonable. You just have to watch the dollar amount of the items you are mailing as if it is over a certain amount you will have to pay GST on the items when you go to pick them up at the post office. I mailed my wedding dress home in a box from Las Vegas to Nova Scotia and I believe the shipping was around $24 and the box was fairly heavy. Hope this helps.

Thanks Leafsgirl thats the information I was looking for. I will more than likely chicken out and end up taking my big suitcase anyway, but its nice to know.

We sent home from Orlando last month---3 Ceiling fans and 2 ceiling lights vis UPS to an address in Lewiston, NY that we use to pick up pkgs from (shipping company) and all that cost $30! They arrived there approx 4 days after we got home and we went down and collected them! EASY!

Ohhh that's not close for you tho!! I think sending to Canada wouldn't be that much more would it??

Lol, no it's not close, it would be a bit of a drive. No matter how much I try I can never seem to manage anything under three days to travel through Ontario! But the postal rates seem to be quite reasonable in the US so maybe it's not such a bad idea.

Thanks

Sue
