Anyone ever lost Something on a ride??

Last year, I stupidly forget my cell phone was in my pocket. Went on Space Mountain, and right at the top, the phone slipped out of my packet.

I tried to grab at it, but it went flying! I thought it was a goner. Reported it to lost and found, but figured I'd be getting a new cell phone when I get home.

The next morning, I called central lost and found and wouldn't you know it, they had my phone! I asked how many pieces it was in, and the CM said it was intact.

When I went to pick it up, I couldn't believe it. There was just one scratch on it and that was it, worked perfectly. I for sure thought it was gone, but it was that Disney magic at work! We were all amazed it survived the ride/fall.

I lost some sunglasses on Space Mtn. years ago....

This past August, the FIRST ride of our first full day my 7 yr old DD went on w/ DH was Expedition Everest... I thought DH would remember to take her glasses off her (prescription).... Nope.

She lost them in the dark tunnel portion and cried and cried and cried for the next hour....

Luckily she's not completely blind yet without them... but we did have to sit as close as we could to any shows and such so she could see them ok :rotfl: :rotfl:

They were never found :confused3 but she was happy upon returning home and we found Hannah Montana frames :rotfl: :rotfl: to purchase....

Yes, I lost my hidden mickey Book on Space Mt it actually fell out i talked to a cm and they were so nice and wrote out a coupon (No Strings Attached it was called) for a free Hidden Mickey Book. This happen again on my next trip and i left it on BLSRS and they wrote out the same coupon. They were so cool about and just approach a cm and say that you lost it and they may or may not write you out coupon out depending if they sell it in the world. All it remember is it is call "No Strings attached" and to it has a picture of Pinocchio on it. Be nice about it and truly express how bad it was to loses it.

Oh, and DH lost his KTTW card in Stormalong Bay a few years ago....

I raced to guest services to cancel it since it had charging privileges on it...

Now I NEVER allow our card to have charging privileges just "in case"....

SO what Happens if you happen to loose something important Like your Wallet or your Key Card ? Is there any way to get it back ?
Our then 4-year-old left his favorite stuffed animal on Soarin' (at Epcot). Despite returning there within an hour, the pup had already made its way to the central lost and found facility so it took me a good 90 minutes of monorails and buses to chase it down.

Then 2 years later he lost it somewhere at Disneyland, and it's gone forever. *sniff*

My DD(12) and her friend (11) were riding space mountain about 20 minutes before MK closed for the night. On about their 6th ride, 1 of my DD's sandals flew out of the little cubby. The CM told her it was gone for good. We had a adr at Chef Mickeys that we had to rush to make so both girls walked around with 1 sandal each on for dinner. We laughed and laughed.

DD9 lost her brand new lanyard/pins that she purchased that same day on ToT. After checking around for a few days we found it at the TTC Lost & Found. Pins intact. Disney never ceases to amaze me.

My sister lost her favorite necklace on ToT. During the ride, the clasp came undone and it fell of her neck. As we were walking out she went to grab it, it's a habit of hers and noticed it missing. We went back towards where you get off, after they emptied the rides they let us go in and look to see if it was in there. It wasn't they said they look and see if it fell down to the bottom when they went in for maintenance at night. They gave us a number to call to see if it ever came up.

Needless to say, my sister was devastated. She called everyday and it was never found, but before we left she bought a little Mickey necklace that she now wears religiously and is her new favorite. However, she says she won't wear it on on next trip.

This is not a lost story, more like a ''forgot it'' one. My daughter and I stayed in the all star movies in 2000. We forgot her favorite barbie doll at the hotel when we headed home, but didnt notice it gone untill we were nearly home. I just wrote it off, vowing to her that i'd replace it.
Two weeks later UPS comes driving up with a package. I open it up, and there was not only my daughters barbie, but extras with it that my daughter didnt have before. a crown for it and my daughter, extra clothes for it, and a little note saying here's your princess for a princess signed, cinderella.
whoever sent it probably spent their own money on those things. I was like wow.The look on her face was priceless.
My daughter talked about forever, still does, and she's 13 now.

I know someone who lost their wallet complete with their multi-day pass inside. He was pretty certain he lost it on Space Mountain. Three years later, it was mailed to him complete with the multiday pass inside. Disney rocks!

I lost my wallet in 2003 on BTMRR. It slipped out of my front pocket. It was a shallow pocket and I did not have a bag that day. As we were exiting the ride, I felt for my wallet and noticed it was gone. We turned around and told a CM. She said to wait and she would go look. After about 20 minutes, she came back with my wallet. I was so happy. It was the day before we were to leave. I don't carry much money or credit cards to the parks so it didn't have much in it but I was happy to get it back. My son also left a hat in the net at EE this past November. After a few days, I checked lost and found and they had it!! He was happy.

Lost my cell phone on Space Mountain (at least that's where we thought it got lost). Went to lost and found the next day, they had a lot of cell phones that matched mine. Since I knew mine was still on, we called it and when it rang, the guy picked it up and brought it over to us.

On another trip, DS lost his sweatshirt in the bathroom at TTC. We discovered it as we were on the monorail heading to MK. We decided to turn around and see if it was still there. Low and behold, it was gone. We zipped right over to lost and found hoping that it would be there even though they usually tell you that you should check the next day. We asked the man at the desk and he said "Do you mean this one?" and handed us the sweatshirt. It just came in from one of the bathroom attendants and he didn't have a chance to take it back to the holding area.

It's always worth a shot to try Lost and Found ... even if it's a few days after the fact.

Last year, I lost a WDW 2000 hat on the Tom Speedway. I know exactly where I lost it, but when they went to retrieve it they said "no luck". I guess it got swept under a car... bummer

A couple of years ago, my dd lost a strapped-on sandal on Buzz. It got caught on the edge of the ride vehicle as we exited. CMs claimed that they couldn't find it. Personally, I don't think they bothered as it was right before closing. None seemed too concerned that my 3 1/2 yo dd had to go without a shoe as she exited the park. As luck would have it, we couldn't even find a pair of flip flops in her size in any of the gift shops we passed.

My DS lost his hat on Peter Pan in 2006. We saw it sitting in our ship as we got out but couldn't reach it in time. We waited for them to come back around but the hat simply disappeared. Maybe they will find it during the refurb, lol! :lmao:

I lost my baseball hat going down the big hill on Splash Mountain (it flew right off my head, and I had thought it was on there pretty snug!). I was devastated because it was one of my favorite hats and irreplaceable since it was from the Ryder Cup. I was asking CMs at the exit whether it might turn up (they said to check back the next day but this was our last day in Florida) when a teenage boy walked up to me and said "Is this your hat?" He was sitting a couple of "logs" behind us on the ride and when it flew off my head he reached up and grabbed it! I was so happy I gave him a big hug, which I'm sure embarrassed him to no end.

A few years ago I was riding buzz lightyear's space ranger spin and I had a bag of souveneirs that conveniently slipped out of the ride vehicle and went like under the conveyor belt thing that moves the ride along. My mother asked a ride attendant after the ride what to do about it and they said they couldn't do anything so we just re-bought the souveneirs that we had. It wasn't really a big deal. Probably $25 worth of stuff at the most. I'm glad it wasn't something more important.

Thats CRAZY! When my mom lost her bag on Buzz (this was back in 02) a CM told us to wait for him, and he hopped on the ride with a flashlight and something that looked like one of those grabbers from the infomercials. Said he had to go fishing. We met him at the exit, he had mom's bag, and some extras! We had a good laugh about what a great job that would be!
DS has lost a hat on Splash Mountain, which was mailed back to us in a few weeks. The CM at Lost and Found said at Splash they take a few days to wash up!
DH lost a cellphone on Space, not on the ride though! It must have slipped out his pocket in the line. He asked the CMs at te loading area and the exit for an hour or so if it had been turned in, before he walked back through the line and it was sitting on top of one of the trash cans!

same here, it wasn't really important but we lost a walkie-talkie on Buzz Lightyear on the conveyer belt, when we got off, we talked to the CM at the entrance or exit, i cannot remember, and they said to come back in about 25 minutes and they would retreive it for us. We rode the ride again and were lucky to grab it during the ride but i am pretty positive that the cm would have retreived it for us even if we didnt try again. Thats upsetting that it didn't work for you. (DisneyGirlie)

so when you go on rides like space mountain, TOT, RnRR, what do you do with backpacks, over the shoulder purses, etc.? Do you take them on the ride?
