Any info about the pros and cons will be appreciated. I don't know what area we may move to, I don't even know if I am allowed to accompany dh. Just thought I'd ask here!! :teeth:

Bumping this thread up for you.

You said "live" there but you're not sure if you will be allowed to accompany him?? Yikes :earseek:

How long will he have to be there?
Do you have kids?
Just curious :)

havent lived there but i did vacation there for a month. egypt was a fascinating country with tons of sand, people & history. the con was there is a decent amount of poverty by high american standards in the regular non touristy sections, the economy is mediocre so job wise could be a problem depending, it is very hot. pro the country/government is changing from its more radical days & the majority of people are friendly, beautiful landscape on the nile & red sea. tons of history, the historical sites there are beautiful. can be a con language is primarly arabic so if you live there i suggest you catch on quickly, i speak alittle so this helped talking with locals, at bazaars, when taking the bus, etc. pretty much egypt is what you make of it, i found it enchanting & enjoyed the differences from the here.

My former client lived in Egypt, as well as a former neighbor.

Both of these families left Egypt for thier children's sake. They both said it wasn't a place for children.

one of the mothers said "many rules for women". She did tell me she felt freer here in the US.
