:)My DD wants a Barbie doll with the built in video camera..Anyone, have this or know where I can get it? TIA!!:thumbsup2

We bought one a couple of days ago. They had a few left at our super walmart when I walked by the display last night on my way to the kung zhus. They had it on a special aisle, not the regular Barbie aisle.

You might also try online with walmart, Target, or Toys R us.

I saw the display at target this am, but was too groggy to notice if any were in stock. We could only find blonde Barbie though when we were shopping. In October when at tru for dd's bday, they did have the brunette.

Okay...walmart and target sites are sold out....BUT, TRU has the African American doll (only) in stock with free shipping .

Good luck!
Eta: just checked amazon and she shows in stock for blonde and brunette as well. Not sure about shipping.

Thanks, have you tried yours out? Or know of anyone who has one??

They were in the toy section at Costco last weekend.

Nope--not until Christmas. I was impressed enough with the display that for the price, it was decent. It is a basic video camera..no zoom
capabilites. It does record and reading on the box, you can download some free software to do what I presume is some basic editing. She has a monitor on her back. It reminds me of a spy camera. So not bad. We only paid $39 for it.
At TRU, while we couldn't touch the Barbie (she was in a case with a lever so that we could turn her position a little, )they had a basic SMALL monitor up and the kids had fun being on tv. Video quality was good on the small
monitor..it might get more pixelated (fuzzy/blocky) on a much larger screen, say the big screen tv.

We bought it for fun, though hubby as resident technoweenie in our home is fearful that in a couple of months, it won't be any good. I don't have that concern as video technology has come along way to allow for a basic video system to not conk out so quickly. But he also won't buy the $300 flat screens for that reason. He likes to go for the most up to date technology. I have tried time and again to explain that our kids don't need a high falootin' gadget. Sometimes simple is the best way to go, especially for a kid.

LOL--the only place I even heard of this was online and it was listed as a creepy toy for the holidays! It was described as a Barbie doll with a camera in her abdomen!

I'm sure a lot of little girls will find it quite useful for spying on or keeping track of their siblings! Kind of a bedroom security camera!

Hmmmm....the lense is in her necklace, so I don't know about that. I do think it is a little creepy. So in my head, I am just calling her spy barbie.:rotfl:

DD8 is getting a generic doll house for Barbie--so hubby figures they can film playtime from Barbie's perspective.:rotfl2:

Unfortunately this was my 4 yo's number one request...thanks to the display at Toys r us a couple of months ago.

And I am slightly embarrased to admit we got it for her. It is called "Video Girl" when you are trying to find it. We got ours at toys r us but I also saw it at wal-mart (for about 5 dollars cheaper).

This is on my dd's list as well, but I opted to get her a cheap video camera instead ($45). That way she can take it out and video on trips or at family's homes or wherever and not be carrying around a barbie doll. :rotfl:

This is on my dd6's list as well - but unless something changes, I'm not planning to get it for her. My dd has not been known to take care of Barbie's and I could see that $50 doll laying in the rain in the front yard. Maybe I will do like pp and look for a cheap video camera that she can "spy" with.

As for where to find them, I've seen them in most stores - Walmart, Target, Kmart, Meijer, Toys R Us.

That is another great reason for not getting it. My daughter is 10, but all toys are sort of the same way. You never know where they are, but electronics are another story. She takes good care of her ds, ipod, etc.
