Anyone ever get a Youth Fare on Southwest???

Has anyone ever gotten a Youth Fare on Southwest? How much cheaper is it than the Adult fare? We have friends traveling with us in Jan that have a 3 & 4 year old. Just trying to get an idea on flight costs for them.

You have to call SWA for youth fares, but, it is normally less expensive to book them with the internet special fares.

When I booked for our family of 4 I asked about youth rates as I have 2 kids and they said the youth fare was more expensive then the sale price I was getting. Sorry that is all I know I am not sure if I was paying full rate if the youth price would have been cheaper.

I agree with the other posts here, but will add that I called to check on the youth fare and was told that it's 10% off of the fully-refundable regular rate. So, most of the time, you'll be able to find a lower-priced discount rate, but if you're booking last minute or it's a day where all the discount rates are blacked out or already gone, it can help a bit.
