I've been looking at airfares again for our December trip although we are still leaning towards driving. Anyway, I found a $59 each way rate for our dates on USA3000 out of Pittsburgh (non-stop too :cool1: .) I've never flown them before and I'm hesitant to spend $560 on an airline that I've never flown before.

So anyone have any opinions on USA3000?

What do you want to know? My sis is a flight attendant for them. They were the first new airline after 9/11. They are growing more and more. They serve meals on most of thier flights. The only thing is they do mainly charter flights with Apple vacations so they may only fly into and out of Orlando 2 days a week. In Cleveland it is tuesday and friday I think.

My sister, her husband, and their 4 kids flew with them this past April. They were very pleased. The kids were able to speak with the captain. They thought that was pretty cool. :goodvibes

I can't sing their praises enough. They were very efficient and professional and on time! We flew from Baltimore to Ft. Myers and we got a choice from two full breakfasts. On the way home we were served a sandwich, chips, cookie and drink. We had an inflight movie we could watch or we could listen to several different music channels.

The only inconvenience is that they do not (or at least they didn't when we flew) fly to the destination everyday. Like ntburns22 said, they may only fly to Orlando twice a week.

But, if they are the dates you need they are by far a great airline.

They dont fly into Orlando from here (Detroit) but do fly into St Petersburg. Our neighbor has used them a few times and likes them

We love USA 3000!!!

We have flown with them 4 times and are already booked for Nov. and Easter with them! For us, it really is cheaper than driving.

The employees that we have had contact with were very professional and very nice! :sunny: I even asked a very flight attendant why everyone seemed so happy, and he just replied that it was a great company to work for!

Our flights have all been on time, and with non-stop flights, a real meal and free tv/movies and earbuds, how can you go wrong? I would book ASAP because the cheapest seats go fast! This said, any of their seats are still a great bargain at peak/holiday times!

Oh yes... and last Easter we flew into St. Pete because they hadn't started flying into MCO yet. The St. Pete airport was very small and was so dead that our kids could run around with other kids in an empty area. I couldn't imagine that luggage could be lost easily in such a small place! The car rental rates were very inexpensive there, and the drive to WDW from there only took about 70 minutes at that time. :)

my parents have flown usa3000 out of pittsburgh and cleveland and really enjoy it. they always tell us to book through them. I would go for it. Unfortunately we couldn't get a flight out on Friday or we would be flying them instead of usair. we did get our flights for 176 rt. not bad for usair. have fun! T

I'm glad to hear this! I just booked them to Nassau because they were about $600 cheaper than everyone else. Glad to hear others have had good experiences.

I thought this was just ValuJet with a diffrent name. No, I`m pretty sure it is.

Valujet bought Airtran and took their name (I believe).

That's correct. ValuJet is now doing business as AirTran.

As a charter type airline they can add a stop, change your flight to an indirect connection or even change your flight times. As long as the flight is the same day you have no recourse.

The don't fly every route every day. That can be a problem if your flight is overbooked or cancelled due to weather. You may have to wait days to get a flight out.

Thanks for all the input everyone!

We have decided that we are going to drive. The airfare alone would have been $560 for 4 of us. The AAA trip fuel calculator figured $220 for gas for our trip. Even if we bump that up to $300 and figure in another $100 for hotels down and back we are still over $150 less by driving than flying (not even counting what it would cost to rent a car in Orlando!)

Now if I would get a $39 rate from Southwest I would have to re-do the math!

Two nights in a hotel room, one in each direction, and extra meals will probably cost more than $100. You should make some allowance for wear and tear and possibly tolls. If you're staying on-site and don't need a rental car I'd fly. Can you fit the 4 of you and luggage in your car?

If you have to rent a car in Orlando you're probably saving enough to consider driving.
