I don't think I have ever seen a review- what does everyone think?

Atmoshere looks kind of cool- going with DD18 for graduation.Would like to sit out by the water.

We also have reservations for Paradiso 37- menu looks great and def. on the water.

The food is okay, nothing great, just okay. Excellent mojitos. Haven't been back...food wasn't worth the trek out to DTD.

My cousin did. He told me he really didnt enjoy his meal but was glad that he did try it once. He wont be going back either.

My husband went when he was there for a conference. Someone recommended it to him. He did not like it! He also went to Wolfgang Pucks (downstairs) and loved it! When we were there last year in Sept he insisted we have reservations for Wolfgang Pucks - so we did and it was good. We have reservations again for our July 4th trip. No to Bongo's - yes to Wolfgang Pucks (downstairs).

1) Bongos does have some good dishes.
2) Overall, it is average.
3) They took Cuban cuisine and Americanized it (like a lot of Epcot eateries).
4) The result is *average*.
5) Good bets:
. . . Chicharrones de Pollo (marinated chicken chunks)
. . . Chuletas de Puerco (pork chops)
. . . Pan con Bistec (steak sandwich at the walk-up window)

We have eaten there once and will never go back. Food was bland......but the service was what killed it! Horrid, horrid, horrid! I can honestly say that it is in the top ten for worst service of ANYWHERE we have eaten.

I really enjoyed the food. It's Americanized Cuban food but it was really good. I love plantains (sweet or green). I have only good things to say.

It's been awhile since we've eaten there but from what I remember it was OK. All I really remember is my DH asked me why they kept on playing Gloria Estavan music! LOL! We still joke about that when we hear her music.

I'm the odd duck -- I love Bongos! We've been there 3 or 4 times and always had a good meal. I've gotten the same dish each time: El Churrasco - tenderized skirt steak grilled to perfection and served witha side of Chimi-Churri sauce served with white rice and green plantains. The chimi-churri sauce really makes the steak and I love the tostones. We're not wowed by the desserts at Bongos, but that's okay -- just a stroll away is Ghiradelli or GCC so we usually do that.

I'll join you LittleStinkerbelle - I really like Bongo's as well. But I will add that it is probably not for everyone. Even though the food isn't truly authentic Cuban, it is still pretty different from the norm. I love the paella and I've also had the ropa vieja. But the last time I went was during a business conference and one of my tablemates was really put off by the mussells in the dish. That seemed pretty tame to me, but maybe not for others. If you're open to new food experiences, then Bongo's is certainly something different. If Cuban food isn't your thing, then it may not be worth a visit.

As with anyplace, tastes vary widely and someplace is somebody's fave and somebody's else worst ever. There's not a food establishment in all of WDW that I've not seen somebody bash on this board, including LeCellier, California Grill and even Victoria and Albert's.

Worst meal of our last trip. Was expecting lots of flavor after reading the menu, but everything we got was extremely bland, hardly any seasoning. A little salt and pepper would have gone a long way.

I really enjoy Bongo's. The ropa veja there is very good. Tender, lots of flavor, etc. The sweet plantains are quite tasty. I've dined there many times and have always been satisfied with the meals. It is decent Americanized Cuban food.

My husband and I really liked it. I would say the service has not been great the couple of times we went, but we love the plaintains. I usually get the pollo empanizado and DH gets El Churrasco. There are probably better restaurants out there, but we really like this kind of food.
