Anyone ever at WDW during Hurricane Rains??

We were at SOG for Hurricane Floyd in 1999. They made an announcement while we were at Epcot that the parks were closing early and would be closed all day the next day. SOG gave us a letter stating all that was happening. We were given an extra nights stay, and they credited our passes with the half day we lost and an extra day for missing out on the closed day. Nothing much ever brewed up except some rain and light winds. We were well taken care of as far as meals and services by SOG. It actually turned out to be a blessing in that we got a nice relaxing day right in the middle of our first trip ever to WDW.

We were there during and right after Hurricane David in 1980?? (yeah, I'm showing my age again!). There were some trees down, and the campground was a bit of a mess, but we were given a great site with a view of the lake (maybe the 100 loop?) because we had a very small pop-up camper and could fit in between the downed trees. We got there very early because we had just been evacuated from our campsite on St. Augustine Beach, where the winds had tossed some of the larger trailers around like toys. The MK was open, but a few attractions were closed because of trees down.

On Thursday night it started again, torrential rain, we just made it out of Osborne Lights and onto the boat to BW, didn't stop all night, still raining when we left for the airport on Friday morning.
We were also there that night, at the Luau. We had a front, center table, which was slightly outside of the "roof". The staff made all of the people in our row stand up and moved the tables back about two feet so that we weren't sitting out in the rain! After the show, we took the monorail back to the MK to catch a bus back to our resort. The area at the bottom of the ramp from the monorail platform was flooded with knee-deep water! Didn't keep us from having a great time, though!
