Anyone else's dog turn evil when you take away food?

A few simple things I learned through training to establish dominance.
1) don't allow them on furniture at all, not in your lap, not in the bed.
2) you walk into a room/ door before your dog
3)walk into your dog and tell her to move. Start when you're about 2 ft away and repeat it as you walk into her. Do not walk around her, make her move for you.

Once you establish dominance it will be easier!!

I have never had a dog growl over food. Anyone in the family including my kids can take ANYTHING out of either dogs mouth without a flinch from anyone.

I would not tolerate it. As others have said, it needs to be addressed ASAP or it will continue to get worse.

I cringe when I see those growling dogs on Americas Funniest Home Videos, especially the ones bearing their teeth and snapping. IMOP, there's nothing funny about it.

Another thing that might help is to teach your dog the command, "Drop it." If you teach them this by using their toys at an early age, they will learn to drop anything when you say the command. It's very helpful when they get into something they're not supposed to.

I do agree with the others that you need to stop this behavior ASAP. Any human ought to be able to take anything they'd like to away from the dog without aggressive behavior.
